Job Description BNY is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Specialist, Full-Stack Engineer to join our Sanctions Engineering team within the Payments Enablement Platform. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and modernizing critical applications that support global sanctions screening, payment compliance, risk management, and regulatory obligations. The successful candidate will play a key role in building scalable, resilient, and high-performance software solutions that enable the firm to meet evolving regulatory requirements while delivering innovative and efficient payment processing capabilities. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, financial crime compliance, and enterprise-scale payments platforms. In This Role, You'll Make an Impact By • Leading the design and development of modern full-stack applications supporting sanctions screening and payment compliance workflows. • Building scalable, real-time solutions capable of processing large transaction volumes while maintaining high availability and low latency. • Partnering closely with Compliance, Financial Crimes, Product Management, Operations, and Architecture teams to deliver regulatory and business-critical capabilities. • Developing microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures that integrate with enterprise payment and screening platforms. • Ensuring software quality through robust testing, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering best practices. • Supporting the delivery of solutions that satisfy regulatory obligations related to sanctions compliance and financial crime prevention. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline. • 6+ years of software engineering experience with strong full-stack development expertise. • Strong proficiency in modern programming languages such as: • Java • Spring Boot • JavaScript/TypeScript • React or Angular • Python (preferred) • Experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices. • Strong understanding of database technologies including PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or NoSQL platforms. • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices. • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
