**Your Role and Responsibilities:** As a Back-End Developer for IBM Z, you will design, develop, unit test, and deliver offerings for IBM Z, such as z/OS, zTPF, zVM, and zVSE using agile practices and DevOps tooling. You will work in a collaborative environment to understand requirements, design, code, debug, and test creative solutions to client problems and requirements. **Your primary responsibilities will include:** Design and Develop Solutions: Design, develop, and unit test offerings for IBM Z, utilizing programming languages such as HLASM/Assembler, Java, and C/C++ to deliver high-quality solutions. Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work collaboratively to understand client requirements, design, code, debug, and test creative solutions to client problems and requirements, ensuring world-class quality and resiliency. Ensure Solution Quality: Ensure solutions meet world-class quality and resiliency standards, supporting strategic imperatives including artificial intelligence and cloud. Mainframe Storage and Database Management: Work with mainframe storage solutions and database technologies, including IMS, DB2, and z/OS security features such as RACF, SSL, SSO, and Multi-Factor Authentication. Agile Practices and DevOps Tooling: Utilize agile practices and DevOps tooling to deliver solutions efficiently and effectively. **Required Education:** Bachelor's Degree **Preferred education** Master's Degree **Required Technical and Professional Expertise:** Minimum 10+ years of experience in systems or OS Its a lead role where the person will be setting technical direction, establishing architectural standards, mentoring team members, and reviewing code. Balancing hands-on coding with team leadership, they ensure systems are scalable and aligned with broader business goals Should possess Strong programming skills in: C , C++, PL/X, Metal C, Assembler, JCL, REXX, REST APIs, JSON, HTTP(S). Experience developing system, kernel level modules AI/ML experience, including: Frameworks/libraries such as PyTorch and TensorFlow. Strong foundation on AI technologies and exposure to Prompt Engineering, Large Language Models (LLMs) Strong experience with Operating Systems and concepts such as kernel, processes , hardware functioning Experience with: - RESTful APIs - Data formats such as JSON and XML z/OS and system management Strong debugging skills, with the ability to quickly root-cause issues. Experience performing code reviews. Familiarity with unit, functional, and system testing frameworks and tools. Experience with security development tools and processes. Software development experience in an Agile environment. Experience with DevOps tooling, including: - Git - Jenkins - Maven - Jira Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Should be able to present project status updates in senior management reviews Experience in team leadership with clear mission ownership. Demonstrated execution experience of Systems project development Proven ability in leading and mentoring a team of developers. Ability to collaborate across disciplines and teams, and work effectively in a global team environment. **Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:** - z/VM architecture - Dump analysis using Interactive Problem Control System (IPCS), with the ability to interpret logs and dumps. ****Years of Experience:**** 10 - 16
