**Title: Staff Engineer, Senior (System Tools,C++)** Experience Range: 10 - 19 years Mandatory Skills: C++, Driver development, ARM Good‑to‑Have Skills: SOC , complainers, debuggers About the Role Qualcomm is looking for a highly experienced **Senior Staff Engineer** to lead the architecture and development of next-generation platform firmware across advanced SoCs. This is a technical leadership role where you will drive core platform software from **ROM Boot to OS Handoff** , enabling cutting-edge products across **ARM Cortex-M** and **RISC-V** based embedded systems. You will work closely with Architecture, Hardware, Security, Validation, Silicon Bring-Up, and Product teams to build scalable, secure, and high-performance firmware platforms powering future Qualcomm innovations. Key Responsibilities Firmware Architecture & Technical Leadership - Own the architecture and technical direction of platform firmware across multiple SoC programs. - Define scalable solutions for: - ROM Boot & Bootloaders - Secure Boot & Authentication - BSP Development - Platform Initialization - Memory Initialization - OS Handoff - Device Driver Frameworks - Lead architecture reviews, design discussions, and code reviews. Platform Software Development - Design and develop low-level platform software in **Embedded C/C++** . - Drive firmware development on: - ARM Cortex-M processors - RISC-V processors - Bare-metal systems - RTOS-based platforms - Enable and optimize: - Zephyr RTOS - FreeRTOS - Bare-metal execution environments
