Software Engineering is responsible for the delivery of software, which may include new development, maintenance and installation of third party packages, software integration efforts and identifying technical solution the business needs of their clients and stakeholders. It may include tasks from every part of the software development lifecycle, including software highlevel solutioning, design, development, programming, and software deployment (both the installation and decommissioning of software). **EXP – 5-8 Years** **The Senior Software Engineer role is within a growing Agile DevOps team for ServiceNow**. The role will be responsible for E2E development of the ServiceNow landscape and you will also be the technical expert for the applications/modules in ServiceNow under your of care (ITSM or ITBM). This role will give you the opportunity to grow to become an active thought partner and solution visionary who shapes the technology demand and direction in the business & IT community. **The role requires a pro-active/independant, strong software engineering skilled individual that knowns ServiceNow modules (ITSM & ITBM), process & technical integration across the modules, scripting techniques, software development/delivery methods (SDLC, CI/CD). An advantage is when the candidate has ServiceNow development experience in ITOM, SecOps modules and IT solution(s) using Performance Analytics (PA).** Accountabilities Working across ServiceNow modules like: ITSM, ITBM, ITOM, SecOps/GRC & Performance Analytics (PA). Working as an solution consultant in assessing functional requirements and providing right technical solutioning and as well direct team with right solution approach (best practise) for their development work. Working as a senior developer to deliver solutions for complex enhancements to be delivered in a sprint. Working in larger projects as senior developer to support initial implementation of new ServiceNow features. Working in DevOps to maintain ServiceNow platform versions (ie. Release upgrades) Knowledge transition from external implementation partners for new modules Keep technical expertise up to date Dimensions and Special Challenges ServiceNow system used by entire Shell (100 000+ users) across the globe The current ServiceNow platform uses ITSM, ITBM & LSM modules with future modules like ITOM & GRC/SecOps being planned for implementation. Virtual working in a global environment with culturally diverse teams and across many organizational boundaries (within and across IT support and delivery organizations, incl. suppliers) Managing multiple delivery priorities, multiple demand requests and complex (integration) issues Managing stakeholders like architects, design authority, product owners, suppliers related to solution design & associated integration. High degree of application, technology and SaaS landscape complexity and integration Working as one team with business support teams to ensure seamless development and deployments of changes and maximum added value for the business by proposing continuous improvements in line with the business needs and strategy Mandatory Qualifications and Skills Hands On experience as a Senior software engineer HTML5/CSS/AJAX/.Net/Java/Webservices/GlideRecord Client Side and Server Side Scripting / Client & Server API's/SaaS integration services ACL & debugging COTS (Commercial Off The Shelf Software) Understand basic fundamentals of iterative development and continuous delivery Understand basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures Understand incremental delivery and use metrics to track progress against the intended time-line Experience in working in agile/scrum delivery teams/DevOps Self-starter and able to handle concurrent tasks with appropriate priority Able to manage team of developers for technical solution and best practise
