Position Description: We are seeking an experienced SharePoint Migration Specialist to support a large-scale enterprise migration program. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing and supporting multiple concurrent SharePoint migrations, collaborating closely with business stakeholders, and ensuring a seamless end-user experience throughout the migration lifecycle. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in SharePoint Online migrations, migration tools such as ShareGate, stakeholder engagement, troubleshooting, and migration validation activities. Roles and responsibilities: Migration Delivery - Execute end-to-end SharePoint migration activities, including pre-migration, migration, and post-migration validation. - Perform migrations using ShareGate and other approved migration tools. - Manage multiple migration waves and sites concurrently while meeting project timelines. - Execute incremental migrations and support cutover activities. Planning & Preparation - Conduct site discovery and pre-migration assessments. - Identify migration risks, including permission complexities, unsupported content, and storage-related issues. - Support content cleanup and readiness activities in collaboration with site owners. Stakeholder & Business Engagement - Work directly with site owners, information stewards, and business users. - Facilitate migration planning sessions and stakeholder discussions. - Communicate migration approaches, schedules, and expectations clearly. - Address stakeholder concerns, manage resistance to change, and support post-migration inquiries. Client Support During Migration - Provide hands-on support to business users throughout migration waves. - Assist with post-migration validation of content, permissions, and site structures. - Troubleshoot migration-related issues and coordinate escalations when required. Technical Execution - Configure, schedule, and execute migration jobs using ShareGate. - Validate migration outcomes, including files, permissions, metadata, and site structures. - Troubleshoot failed or partial migrations and perform remediation activities. - Support permissions mapping and ensure migrated access models maintain integrity. Operational Excellence - Manage workload across multiple active migrations simultaneously. - Track migration progress, risks, dependencies, and issues. - Maintain project documentation and provide regular status updates to project leadership. Your future duties and responsibilities Must have skillset: Technical Skills - Proven hands-on experience with SharePoint Online migrations. - Strong experience using ShareGate or equivalent SharePoint migration tools. - In-depth understanding of: - SharePoint Online architecture and site structures. - Modern SharePoint sites and subsites. - SharePoint permissions, inheritance, and access management. - Migration challenges such as throttling, large data volumes, and unsupported components. - Experience configuring, executing, and validating migration jobs. Migration Delivery & Operations - Experience delivering multiple SharePoint migrations in parallel. - Strong project execution, prioritization, and workload management skills. - Ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple stakeholders and migration waves. - Experience performing migration validation, cutover support, and post-migration remediation. Stakeholder Management - Proven experience working directly with business stakeholders and end users. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and business-friendly manner. - Experience supporting users through migration and organizational change initiatives. Problem Solving & Troubleshooting - Strong troubleshooting skills related to migration failures, performance issues, permission mapping, and data validation. - Ability to work independently and proactively resolve issues. - Strong analytical and root-cause analysis capabilities. Good to have skills: - Experience with AvePoint solutions, including Fly, Cloud Governance, and reporting tools. - Experience migrating from: - SharePoint 2010 / 2013 environments. - Network file shares and legacy content repositories. - Exposure to large-scale enterprise migration programs involving multiple business units. - Knowledge of Microsoft 365 collaboration services and governance practices. - Experience with migration reporting, automation, and governance frameworks.
