Job Title Shift Engineer Job Description Summary Job Description 1.4. Key Relationships Internal Relationships: C&W Operation External Relationships: Client 1.5. Job Purpose To ensure smooth operations and maintenance of all technical services (Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, DG, Fire Systems, Plumbing, BMS, and other critical engineering services) within the facility, ensuring compliance, safety, uptime, and cost efficiency. 1.6. Accountabilities Key Result Area Major Activities Operations & Maintenance • Ensure uninterrupted operation of Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, DG, UPS, Fire Fighting, and Plumbing systems. • Implement Preventive, Predictive, and Corrective Maintenance schedules. • Conduct daily equipment inspections, checklist monitoring, and breakdown management. Compliance & Safety • Adhere to statutory norms for Electrical, Fire & Safety, and Environmental regulations. • Implement PTW (Permit to Work) and LOTO procedures during technical activities. • Support in safety audits, fire drills, and compliance documentation. Energy & Cost Management • Monitor and analyze energy consumption for optimization. • Support energy-saving initiatives and sustainability practices. • Control operational costs through efficient use of manpower, spares, and consumables. Vendor & Team Management Documentation & Reporting • Supervise technical staff and AMC/service providers to ensure SLA adherence. • Validate service reports, attendance, and vendor invoices. • Coordinate with contractors for scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs. • Maintain logbooks, checklists, history equipment, and asset records. • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly technical MIS reports. • Document incident reports, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans. Background & Experience • Professional Experience: • 37 years of experience in Facilities Management, Building Operations, or Technical Maintenance. • Hands-on experience in operation & maintenance of Electrical Systems, HVAC, DG Sets, UPS, STP/WTP, and Fire & Safety systems. • Exposure to handling technical services in Commercial, Corporate, IT/ITES, or Industrial facilities. • Experience in vendor management, AMC coordination, and technical audits. • Behavioral Competencies: • Strong coordination and communication skills for managing vendors and stakeholders. • Analytical mindset with attention to detail. • Ability to work under pressure, handle escalations, and ensure timely resolutions. • Problem-solving attitude with focus on cost optimization and efficiency. 1.8. Qualifications & Technical Skills • Education: • Diploma / Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline (mandatory). • Certification in Fire & Safety, Energy Management, or BMS will be an added advantage. • Technical Skills: • Strong knowledge of MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing). • Working knowledge of statutory compliance requirements (Electrical safety, Fire NOC, Environmental norms). • Proficiency in BMS/Automation systems, CMMS tools, and technical reporting. • Familiarity with Energy Management practices and sustainability initiatives. Occupation specific capabilities: 1. Technical Expertise • In-depth knowledge of MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) and critical utilities (HVAC, DG, UPS, Fire Systems ,LT Distribution). • Ability to conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions with minimal downtime. • Proficiency in BMS/automation systems and use of CMMS/CAFM tools for maintenance scheduling and tracking. 2. Compliance & Safety Orientation • Strong understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements related to electrical safety, fire & life safety, and environmental norms. • Familiarity with PTW (Permit to Work), LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), EHS protocols, and audit preparedness. • Ability to ensure the facility meets ISO, Energy, and Safety audit standards. 3. Vendor & Resource Management • Skilled in coordinating with AMC vendors, contractors, and service partners for SLA-based performance delivery. • Capability to supervise technical teams/technicians with task delegation and performance monitoring. • Ability to validate technical reports, vendor invoices, and ensure contractual compliance. 4. Analytical & Reporting Ability • Competence in monitoring energy consumption, technical KPIs, and cost optimization
