Role: Shift Incharge - Vehicle Assembly Location: Hosur Reporting to: Production Manager - Vehicle Team name: Operations team About the Team and the Role: The Operations team at Ather is responsible for managing the end-to-end production of vehicle lines, ensuring manufacturing excellence, meeting daily production targets, and maintaining high standards of quality and process compliance on the shop floor. This role is for a Shift Incharge - Vehicle Assembly who will oversee the vehicle assembly lines, monitor shift-wise output, drive key operational key results (OKRs) like SPR, OEE, and scrap reduction, and mentor the execution team. **Responsibilities** - Monitor and control hourly/daily vehicle assembly line output, communicating the production plan clearly to achieve shift targets. - Coordinate vehicle sustenance and line swimlanes to resolve 4M (Man, Machine, Material, Method) issues and achieve SPR, OEE, and scrap cost OKRs. - Manage physical and system inventory accuracy through active participation in perpetual audits. - Manage associate attendance, resolve team grievances, and mentor production leads to maintaining high morale and well-being. - Enforce 5S standards, safety protocol (PPE) compliance, and Integrated Management Systems (IMS) standards while closing audit non-conformances (NCs) timely. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Spec Ops, PEx, Quality) on line stops, quality issues, PFMEA reviews, and PQ/PPAP audits. - Manage engineering change notices (ECN), document change controls, and First Time Right (FTR) validations for new product development (NPD). - Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to support recruitment, onboarding, and structured training of shop floor associates. **Experience And Qualifications** - Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Production, Mechanical, or Automobile Engineering. - 4 to 8 years of relevant functional experience in automobile or related mass-production industries. Must Have Competencies - Shop floor management of mass production assembly lines within the automotive industry. - Implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tools and methodologies on the production shop floor. - Management of New Product Development (NPD) validation processes, PFMEA, and control plan development. - Quality audit execution and compliance in alignment with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 (IMS) standards. Good to Have Competencies - Experience with manufacturing enterprise and design software such as SAP, JIRA, AutoCAD, and Factory CAD. - Development and optimization of assembly tools to improve the ease and safety of production. - Execution and document control of engineering change notices (ECN) on active production lines. - Experience in setting up operations or assembly lines for greenfield automotive projects.
