Job description

As an SDE I at Swiggy, you will build features and services that ship to millions of users - and you will own the outcome, not just the code. We are looking for engineers who take end-to-end ownership of what they build: understanding the product problem behind a requirement, questioning it when it doesn't make sense, following their work into production, and measuring whether it actually moved the needle for users and the business. AI experience is a must for this role. You will build LLM-powered and agentic features, so you should come with hands-on experience building agents - across different harnesses and frameworks - and be able to speak concretely about what you built, the choices you made, and the outcomes it produced. Curiosity about the product, hunger to learn, and a bias for impact matter as much here as raw engineering skill.   What qualities are we looking for? • Very high ownership: takes a problem from ambiguity to production, follows through on rollout, monitoring, and iteration, and doesn't consider work done until the impact is delivered. • Product mindset: genuinely curious about product initiatives, understands the 'why' behind features, engages with product and business teams, and measures success in user and business outcomes rather than features shipped. • Mandatory: hands-on experience building AI agents - using different agent harnesses and frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, Claude Agent SDK, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar) - with the ability to clearly articulate what was built, why that harness/framework was chosen, and what outcome it achieved. • Practical experience integrating LLMs from providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Bedrock, or Azure OpenAI, including prompt design, tool/function calling, and evaluating output quality. • Proficiency in at least one programming language - Python, Java, Golang. • Good knowledge of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and CS fundamentals. • Hands-on experience working with databases and Linux/Unix platforms. • Follows industry coding standards and writes maintainable, scalable, and efficient code to solve business problems. • A collaborative team player who communicates well, seeks and acts on feedback, and learns fast. What will you get to do here? • Own features and services end to end - from understanding the product problem, through design and development, to production rollout, monitoring, and measuring impact. • Build LLM-powered and agentic features into Swiggy's products, experimenting with different agent frameworks and harnesses and choosing the right tool for the problem. • Work closely with product managers, designers, and business teams to shape product initiatives - not just implement them. • Define and track the metrics for what you ship, and iterate until the intended user and business impact is achieved. • Participate in code reviews and design discussions, and continuously raise the quality bar of your own work. • Experiment with new and relevant technologies and tools, and share learnings with the team. We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, colour, religion, sex, disability status, or any other characteristic protected by the law. • B Tech/M Tech in Computer Science or equivalent from a reputed college with 1-3 years of experience in a product development company (strong internship/project experience considered).
