Software Development Manager — Seller Fees TechAmazon — Bangalore, IndiaAre you an SDM who wants to lead a platform transformation — not just manage one?Seller Fees Tech (SFT) Bangalore is one of Amazon's newest engineering organizations, formed in October 2025 with a clear mandate: build and own the financial systems that power how over two million sellers are charged, incentivized, and rewarded across Amazon's global marketplaces. We are not a satellite team executing on upstream designs. Every architecture call, technical strategy, and delivery milestone across our four charters is owned end-to-end from Bangalore. As an SDM here, you won't be inheriting a stable system to operate. You'll be leading a foundational transformation — rebuilding how Amazon's seller fee and incentive platform works, at scale, from the ground up.What You'll Be Part OfOur 50-member team brings together Software Engineers, Business Intelligence Engineers, Data Engineers, Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Applied Scientists — all co-located in Bangalore. This cross-functional density means your engineers won't just write code in isolation. They'll collaborate directly with scientists building scoring models, analysts investigating financial anomalies, and PMs translating complex business requirements into engineering problems. As SDM, you'll lead a team of 10–12 engineers while partnering closely with Product, Business, Finance, and Operations stakeholders — owning not just delivery, but the technical strategy and long-term platform direction for your charter. The Technical Moment You're JoiningAcross all four of our charters — Incentives, Fee Change Management Platform, Fee Expansion, and AWD Fees — we are in the middle of a foundational architecture overhaul. That means:Your team won't be patching years of accumulated technical debt. They'll be designing and building systems the right way, from the ground upIn Incentives, we are replacing batch-driven legacy jobs with an event-driven enrollment engine, introducing a unified Incentive Policy model, and building an AI-assisted configuration pipeline that reduces program onboarding from 7 weeks to under 1 week — directly eliminating 8,000+ annual seller support ticketsIn Fee Change Management, we are building self-service tooling that eliminates manual engineering touchpoints for every fee program launch across 13+ global marketplacesIn Fee Expansion and AWD Fees, we are extending Amazon's fee infrastructure to new services and global markets, building the primitives that future fee programs will be built onAcross all charters, your team will work on systems processing billions of financial transactions — where correctness, scale, and low latency are non-negotiableGenAI is Part of What You'll BuildThis isn't a team that mentions GenAI in a job description and moves on. AI-assisted tooling is a core component of our architecture — built into configuration generation pipelines, pre-launch validation, and anomaly detection in financial workflows. As SDM, you'll shape how the team adopts and scales these capabilities, both as a product differentiator and as a force multiplier in how your engineers work day-to-day.What This Role Offers YouTrue end-to-end ownership — you own the technical vision, not just the delivery calendar. Architecture decisions, team investments, and long-term platform strategy are yours to driveA team built for depth — your engineers work alongside Data Scientists, Applied Scientists, BIEs, and PMs in a co-located Bangalore org. The cross-functional density accelerates both delivery and your team's growthHigh-visibility, high-stakes delivery — VP and S-Team level goals are on your roadmap. Your team's outcomes will directly influence seller growth strategy and Amazon's global marketplace expansionThe right moment — joining a new org at the start of a multi-year architecture transformation means you shape the foundations, not just execute on themWho Thrives HereYou are energized by transformation, not just execution. You hold technical depth and stakeholder breadth simultaneously — equally comfortable reviewing a distributed systems design and presenting a program risk to a VP. You build trust quickly with engineers and business partners alike, and you know that the best outcomes come from teams that understand the customer problem deeply before they write a line of code. You don't need perfect clarity to move. You create it.
