**Position Summary** We are seeking a **Full Stack Software Engineer** with a strong emphasis on **modern frontend development** to contribute to the Bentley Infrastructure Cloud product line. The role primarily focuses on building **high-quality, scalable React-based user experiences**, while also contributing to backend services using **Node.js or .NET**. You will work closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver **user-centric, cloud-native applications**, leveraging **Azure services and CI/CD pipelines**. This role is ideal for engineers who are passionate about frontend engineering but are comfortable working across the stack when needed. **Responsibilities** **Frontend Engineering (Primary)** - Design and develop **scalable, performant web applications** using **React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+)** - Implement **responsive, accessible, and intuitive UI/UX** aligned with product design standards - Contribute to **frontend architecture decisions**, focusing on maintainability, modularity, and performance (not full ownership, but meaningful contribution) - Optimize applications for **performance, usability, and cross-browser compatibility** **Full Stack Development (Secondary)** - Develop and integrate backend APIs/services using **Node.js or .NET** - Collaborate with backend teams to define **API contracts and data flows** - Debug and resolve issues across frontend and backend layers to ensure **end-to-end reliability** **Engineering Practices** - Write **clean, maintainable, testable code** following best practices and coding standards - Participate actively in **code reviews**, providing constructive feedback - Troubleshoot and debug **production issues with clear root cause analysis** - Contribute to **technical documentation and knowledge sharing** **Cloud & DevOps** - Work with **Azure services** for application deployment and integration - Contribute to **CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps** - Ensure **basic observability, logging, and monitoring** for applications **Collaboration** - Collaborate with **product managers, designers, and engineers** to translate requirements into technical solutions - Participate in **agile ceremonies** and contribute to sprint deliverables - Communicate effectively within a **distributed, cross-functional team** **AI Tools & Development Practices** - Use **AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot)** to improve productivity in coding, debugging, and test generation - Leverage AI tools to **identify code improvements, edge cases, and potential issues** - Apply **engineering judgment to validate AI-generated outputs** for correctness, performance, and maintainability - Demonstrate a **balanced approach**using AI effectively without over-reliance **Qualifications** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - **4–7 years** of professional software development experience - **Strong hands-on experience in frontend development**, with: - **2–4 years of React experience** in production applications - Working experience with **Node.js or .NET backend development** - Good understanding of: - Frontend architecture and component design - REST APIs and client-server interactions - Object-oriented and modular design principles - Experience with **Azure cloud services and CI/CD (Azure DevOps preferred)** - Strong **problem-solving and debugging skills** - Good communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional setup **Behavioral Skills** - Demonstrates **ownership of assigned features/modules**, but not org-wide architecture ownership - Able to **work independently with moderate guidance** - Proactively **identifies issues and suggests improvements** - Continuously learns and adapts to **new tools, frameworks, and practices**
