By leveraging AI-powered insights, centralized policy enforcement, intelligent network automation, and identity-based security, HPE delivers comprehensive edge-to-cloud networking and security solutions that enable secure, agile, and future-ready digital infrastructure for enterprises worldwide. **What you'll do:** ***Responsibilities:*** Responsible for designing and building Security Director, an enterprise-scale security orchestration and management platform delivered as a cloud-native, microservices-based solution for managing network security across multi-cloud and on-premises environments, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and virtualization platforms such as VMware and KVM. This role focuses on developing high-performance backend services in Go and Java, building and operating gRPC/REST APIs, and contributing to platform reliability, observability, and secure authentication/authorization. **Key Responsibilities** - Design, implement, and operate high-performance, scalable microservices for security orchestration and policy management. - Build and maintain service APIs using gRPC/Protocol Buffers and REST/OpenAPI standards. - Develop cloud-native services designed for Kubernetes deployment and multi-cloud portability. - Implement event-driven and asynchronous workflows using Kafka and queueing patterns - Deliver robust data-layer integrations and performance improvements for PostgreSQL and Redis. - Build platform-grade observability using Prometheus metrics and distributed tracing to support reliability and troubleshooting. - Improve developer productivity and release reliability by contributing to CI/CD pipelines and build tooling (including Bazel where applicable). - Provide technical leadership through design reviews, code reviews, and mentoring of junior engineers. Technologies / Components in Scope - Go (1.24+), Java (Spring Boot / Spring Framework, Jakarta EE) • gRPC, Protocol Buffers, REST, OpenAPI/Swagger • - PostgreSQL, Redis (multiple client implementations) • Apache Kafka (Confluent, Sarama) and Redis-based queues • Observability: Prometheus, distributed tracing, structured logging (SLF4J/Logback) • Container platform: Docker, Kubernetes, Kubernetes client libraries • Build & delivery: Bazel, Maven, Helm, Jenkins CI/CD • Security & identity: OAuth2, SAML, JWT • Supporting languages/tools: Node.js/TypeScript, Python, Git (GitLab workflows) **What you need to bring:** ***Education and Experience Required:*** - Bachelor's or Master's engineering degree in Computer Science, Information Systems - 7+ years of experience delivering production-grade services in Go and/or Java. - Proven experience designing and operating microservices in cloud-native environments. - Strong understanding of distributed systems, reliability, scalability, and performance engineering. - Hands-on experience with databases and messaging systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka). - Experience implementing observability practices (metrics, tracing, logging) in production systems. **Preferred Qualifications** - Experience with the Bazel build system in large or polyglot codebases. - Knowledge of enterprise security, network security concepts, and identity management - .
