Job description

**Department:** Information Technology **Location:** Hyderabad **Description** We are looking for a Senior Salesforce Engineer who combines deep platform expertise with a modern, AI-first development approach. This is a techno-functional role: you will work directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements, lead solution design, and deliver high-quality Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, Experience Cloud, and emerging AI capabilities including Agentforce and Einstein Copilot. You will be expected to use AI-assisted development tools—such as Kiro, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot—not just occasionally, but as a core productivity practice: generating documentation, accelerating test coverage, performing code reviews, and driving throughput that would otherwise require additional headcount. Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) integration patterns is expected as we expand AI agent capabilities connected to Salesforce data and actions. This is a high-ownership senior IC role. You will influence technical direction, govern platform standards, mentor junior developers, and act as a trusted technical advisor to business and technology leadership. **A Typical Day In The Life Includes** Core Platform Development - Design, build, and optimize Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, Experience Cloud, and custom platform layers, meeting acceptance criteria and architectural standards. - Develop Lightning Web Components (LWC), Apex classes, triggers, test classes, Flows, SOQL, callouts, and platform events following SSDLC and secure coding standards. - Own technical analysis, solution design, configuration, and Tier 3 support for system integrations and Salesforce customizations. - Architect and maintain scalable data models, sharing architecture, security configurations (profiles, roles, permission sets, field-level security), and org-wide defaults. - Implement and govern event-driven patterns including Platform Events, Change Data Capture (CDC), and outbound messaging to support real-time integrations. - Design and maintain custom API integrations (REST/SOAP), middleware patterns (MuleSoft, Boomi, Power Automate), and external application connections via AppExchange or direct API. Agentforce, Einstein & AI Platform Capabilities - Lead the design and implementation of Agentforce solutions including agent actions, prompt templates, Einstein Copilot customization, and LLM-grounded flows within Salesforce. - Build and optimize Einstein AI features including next-best-action, prediction builder, and Einstein Analytics to surface intelligent recommendations for sales and service teams. - Implement MCP (Model Context Protocol) integration patterns to connect external AI agents and tools to Salesforce data, actions, and workflows. - Evaluate and adopt emerging Salesforce AI capabilities (Agentforce Studio, Einstein Trust Layer, Data Cloud grounding) as part of platform modernization. - Stay current with Salesforce seasonal releases and proactively assess impact of new AI features on the existing platform and roadmap. AI-Assisted Development & Productivity - Use AI coding assistants—Kiro, Claude, GitHub Copilot—as a primary development practice, not a supplemental tool, to achieve significant throughput gains in code generation, refactoring, and review. - Leverage Microsoft Copilot and Cowork for day-to-day productivity including meeting summarization, documentation drafting, email communication, and task management. - Generate and maintain technical documentation using AI tooling: solution design docs, data dictionaries, API specs, and runbooks at a cadence and quality that would otherwise require a dedicated technical writer. - Use AI-assisted test generation to accelerate Apex test class coverage, reduce manual testing effort, and improve overall code quality and regression safety. - Contribute to team standards and playbooks for AI-assisted development practices, sharing patterns that improve collective productivity. DevOps, CI/CD & Platform Governance - Own Salesforce DX-based development workflows including scratch orgs, unlocked packages, and source-driven development using Git. - Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce deployments using tools such as Copado, Gearset, or GitHub Actions. - Govern environment management across sandbox strategy, deployment promotion, and release management aligned to sprint cadences. - Enforce code quality standards through peer code reviews, static analysis, and automated test thresholds. - Maintain platform security posture including Shield Platform Encryption, field audit trail, data masking, and compliance with GDPR and data residency requirements. Stakeholder Engagement & Technical Leadership - Lead discovery sessions and requirements workshops with business stakeholders; independently produce BRDs, user stories, and technical specifications without requiring BA support. - Present solution options, trade-offs, and architectural recommendations to non-technical audiences including business leadership and product owners. - Act as a trusted technical advisor to the wider technology team, management, and business—proactively identifying platform risks, opportunities, and modernization priorities. - Contribute to technical roadmap planning, architecture reviews, and platform governance decisions. - Mentor junior and mid-level developers through code reviews, pair programming, and structured coaching. **Basic Qualifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent work experience. - 8+ years of Salesforce development experience with demonstrated senior-level scope (architecture, governance, cross-functional delivery). - Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I/II required; Administrator certification preferred. - Additional certifications strongly valued: Agentforce Specialist, Einstein Analytics, Application Archite
