Job Title Software Technologist - DevOps Job Description Your role: Production & SRE • Operate and support highly available customer-facing applications running on AWS and Kubernetes. • Troubleshoot complex production issues related to performance, availability, scalability, networking, infrastructure, and application reliability. • Work with development and architecture teams to identify and resolve issues in complex microservices-based and healthcare applications. • Participate in production incident management, root-cause analysis, and post-incident reviews. • Drive improvements to system reliability, resilience, scalability, and operational efficiency. AWS & Kubernetes • Hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes in real production environments. • Deploy and manage workloads on Amazon EKS. • Troubleshoot Kubernetes workloads, including Pods, Deployments, StatefulSets, DaemonSets, Services, Ingress, ConfigMaps, Secrets, RBAC, HPA, probes, resource limits, and autoscaling. • Work with AWS services such as EKS, EC2, VPC, ALB/NLB, Route 53, IAM, ECR, S3, RDS, ElastiCache, Secrets Manager, KMS, and CloudWatch. • Implement high-availability, scalability, disaster recovery, and capacity-management solutions. • Perform infrastructure automation using Terraform. CI/CD & GitHub Actions • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions workflows from scratch. • Build reusable and standardized workflows for different application teams and technology stacks. • Create pipelines covering the complete lifecycle: Build → Test → Security Scan → Package → Publish → Deploy → Verify → Notify. • Experience building pipelines for multiple types of applications, such as: • Java / Maven / Gradle applications • Python applications • Docker/container-based applications • Microservices • Hypervisor for on Prem vm creation from scratch • Develop reusable GitHub Actions, composite actions, workflow templates, and shared pipeline components. • Implement environment-specific deployment workflows across Dev, QA, UAT, and Production. • Implement automated Docker image builds and publishing to Amazon ECR or private registries. • Integrate CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, code quality, vulnerability scanning, SAST/SCA, container scanning, and compliance checks. • Implement deployment strategies such as rolling, blue/green, and canary deployments where appropriate. • Manage secrets, credentials, environment variables, artifacts, approvals, and deployment gates securely. • Implement workflow triggers based on pull requests, branches, tags, releases, manual approvals, and scheduled executions. • Troubleshoot failed builds, deployments, runners, dependencies, authentication, artifacts, and pipeline integrations. • Optimize CI/CD pipelines for performance, reliability, maintainability, and developer experience. • Establish CI/CD best practices and help development teams onboard their applications onto standardized pipelines. Monitoring, Logging & Observability • Build and maintain comprehensive monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability solutions. • Hands-on experience with: • Prometheus • Alertmanager • Grafana • Loki • CloudWatch • Develop dashboards and alerts covering application, Kubernetes, infrastructure, and business-critical metrics. • Define meaningful alerts while minimizing alert noise and false positives. • Establish actionable monitoring around availability, latency, errors, saturation, resource utilization, and capacity. Automation • Automate repetitive operational and deployment tasks using Python, Bash, or other scripting languages. • Develop tooling to improve developer productivity and operational efficiency. • Build reusable infrastructure and deployment components.
