**Job Description - Test Automation Engineer** Job Title: Test Automation Engineer Experience Level: 4 8 Years Location: Chennai, India Summary: We are seeking a Test Automation Engineer with 4+ years of experience. Proficiency in the Selenium stack is mandatory. Candidates must also have 6 to 12 months of hands-on experience with Playwright, practical knowledge of SQL, familiarity with API testing, and experience using AI tools (LLMs/GPT) for test automation tasks. **Essential Skills:** - Selenium Stack (Mandatory): Expert-level proficiency with Selenium WebDriver, TestNG/JUnit, grid setup, locators, waits, and dynamic content handling. - Playwright (Essential): 6 to 12 months of practical experience with Playwright, including selectors, tracing, codegen, and test authoring. - AI & LLM Integration: Proven ability to use GPT/LLMs for generating test scenarios, creating synthetic test data, summarizing execution logs, analyzing results, and calling AI APIs. - SQL: Comfortable writing SELECT queries, including joins and filtering across multiple tables, for data validation. - API Testing: Solid familiarity with HTTP methods, status codes, request/response structures, and tools like Postman or REST Assured. - Orchestration & CI/CD: Experience orchestrating test suites in Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps. - Gap Analysis: Ability to identify automation gaps from manual testing, support tickets, and client findings, then convert them into automated scripts. - Debugging & Maintenance: Proficient in debugging flaky tests, synchronization issues, and maintaining existing frameworks. - Agile & Git: Comfortable with agile methodologies and version control using Git. **Qualifications:** - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 4+ years of experience as a Test Automation Engineer or SDET with the required skill set. **Roles and Responsibilities:** - Design and maintain automation frameworks using Selenium and Playwright. - Leverage AI/LLM tools to create test data, generate scenarios, and analyze execution results. - Write SQL queries to validate backend data as part of test automation. - Implement API tests and integrate them into end-to-end automation suites. - Orchestrate test execution across browsers and environments within CI/CD pipelines. - Analyze manual testing feedback and client-reported bugs to close automation coverage gaps. - Debug, refactor, and stabilize flaky tests. - Collaborate with development, QA, and product teams. - Generate actionable test reports and integrate them with dashboards. - Mentor junior team members on automation best practices.
