TCS presents an Excellent opportunity for **Solution Architect – Edge Computing** Desired Experience Range: **10 to 15 Years** Location of Requirement: **Bangalore** Required Skill: **Industrial IoT, Python, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Postgres, RabbitMQ, Kafka** **Technical/Functional Skills:** - Designing highly optimized relational database schema for platform and applications - Proficiency in PostgreSql database features (partitions, JSON path query, Notify\\_listen, Free-text search, vectors, RLS, FDW, extensions etc) - Experience in end-to-end data pipeline and integration solutions for IoT sensors, time-series data - Experience in Micro-service API development using Java/Kotlin/Spring Boot - Experience in application performance optimization using reactive design patterns, binary payload, streaming etc **Edge & Distributed Systems** - Proven experience designing and implementing **edge computing solutions** with strict latency and reliability requirements. - Strong understanding of **device, PLC, and sensor integration** , industrial protocols, and plant network constraints. **Containers & Orchestration** - Deep hands‑on experience with **Docker** (images, volumes, networking, resource limits) and preferably **Kubernetes / K3s** or equivalent orchestrators. - Experience structuring microservices, defining deployment descriptors, and managing CI/CD for edge environments. **Programming & Scripting** - Strong proficiency in at least one of: **Python** , **C++** , or similar for backend/edge services; good scripting (Bash/PowerShell) for automation. **Data & Analytics / ML at the Edge** - Familiarity with **data ingestion, pre‑processing, and ML inference** pipelines at the edge (e.g., Python services, model packaging, CPU/GPU optimization). - Understanding of how edge results are integrated with **cloud or lakehouse** platforms for monitoring, analytics, and retraining. **Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role:** **Architecture & Design** - Define end‑to‑end **edge architectures** that connect devices (IoT, PLCs, cameras, controllers) to edge servers and upstream cloud or data center platforms, meeting strict latency and reliability targets. - Select and size edge compute (CPU/GPU, storage, networking) based on throughput, timing, and scalability requirements across zones, lines, or plants. **Solution Implementation** - Lead design and implementation of **containerized, microservices‑based** edge applications (data ingestion, ML/analytics, rules engines, visualization, APIs). - Define **service boundaries** , APIs, and data contracts between edge services, plant systems, and cloud platforms. - Ensure solutions are designed for **high availability** , **fault isolation** , and **graceful degradation** in case of network or hardware issues. **Performance, Optimization & Reliability** - Work with engineering and data teams to meet strict **real‑time or near‑real‑time timing budgets** using code optimization, efficient data structures, and parallelization (CPU/GPU where appropriate). - Establish **SLAs** , performance KPIs, and capacity models for edge workloads and ensure the design can scale across multiple sites. **Deployment, Operations & Tooling** - Define and industrialize **deployment patterns** for edge (e.g., Docker Compose / Kubernetes, “as‑a‑service” configurations, automated start/stop and restart policies). - Design observability for edge: metrics, logs, health checks, and alerting; standardize dashboards for plant and engineering users. - Define **testing strategies** (lab, pilot, full plant) and validation criteria before production cut‑over. **Security, Compliance & Governance** - Define and enforce **security patterns** for edge solutions (network zoning, access control, secrets management, OS hardening, image provenance). - Ensure compliance with enterprise standards for **data handling, retention, and privacy** for edge‑generated data and logs **Note:** We encourage you to register at www.tcs.com/careers for exploring an exciting career with TCS at the time of your application to TCS Kindly Visit URL: https://ibegin.tcs.com/iBegin/register a) Complete the online TCS application form (Very Important) b) Upload latest resume, Government ID proof (PAN CARD) and l test passport Size Photo (white background is preferable) in the portal after registering.
