Job description

**Role & responsibilities** - **Assessment & Strategy:**Conduct deep-dive assessments of legacy applications, identifying dependencies, technical debt, and risks. Define 7R migration strategies (Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, etc.). - **Target Architecture Design:**Create architectural blueprints, reference models, and integration patterns for cloud-native applications using microservices, containers, and serverless technologies. - **Modernization Execution:**Guide engineering teams through the modernization of monoliths into microservices, implementing API-first approaches. - **Tooling & Automation:**Define and implement Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) to automate deployment. - **Migration Implementation:**Leverage tools like AWS Migration Hub, Azure Migrate, or Google Cloud Migrate to execute data and workload migrations with minimal downtime. - **Stakeholder Management:**Collaborate with business leaders, CIOs, and technical teams to align cloud strategies with business goals, presenting trade-offs and cost optimizations (FinOps). - **Security & Compliance:**Ensure modernized applications adhere to security best practices (Identity & Access Management, Encryption, Secrets Management) and regulatory standards. - **Mentorship:**Mentor junior engineers and developers on cloud-native design principles and best practices. - **Cloud Platforms:**Expert knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP). - **Modernization Tools:** Proficiency with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS/AKS/GKE), API Gateways, and service mesh. - **Migration Tools:**Experience with Azure Migrate, AWS MGN (Application Migration Service), or Google Cloud Migrate for Compute Engine. - **IaC** **& DevOps:**Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation. - **Application Development:**Background in Java/Spring Boot, .NET, or Node.js to effectively re-factor applications. - **Data Migration:**Experience migrating relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases using tools like Database Migration Service (DMS). - **Discovery & Assessment:** LeanIX, Azure Migrate, AWS Application Discovery Service. - **Containerization & Orchestration:**Docker, Kubernetes (K8s), Red Hat OpenShift, VMware Tanzu. - **CI/CD:**Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Tekton. - **IaC:**Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Ansible. - **Monitoring & Logging:**Dynatrace, Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK Stack. - **Database Migration:**AWS DMS, Azure Database Migration Service, Google Datastream. - **API Management:**MuleSoft, Apigee **Preferred candidate profile**
