Specialist – Database & Systems Engineering 📍 **Location:** Bangalore- Whitefield 💼 **Experience:** 7+ Years 🏢 **Employment Type:** Full-Time- 5days Work From Office About the Role We are looking for a **Specialist– Database & Systems Engineering** to drive the reliability, security, automation, and performance of our enterprise Linux and database platforms across on-premises and Microsoft Azure environments. In this role, you will take technical ownership of business-critical infrastructure, ensuring high availability, operational excellence, platform modernization, and cloud adoption. You will collaborate with Infrastructure, Application, Security, Architecture, and Service Management teams to deliver scalable and resilient technology solutions. Key Responsibilities Database & Linux Platform Engineering - Administer and support enterprise Linux environments (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu). - Manage database platforms including **Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL** . - Perform installation, upgrades, migrations, patching, backup, recovery, and lifecycle management. - Troubleshoot complex OS, database, storage, network, and application issues. - Maintain platform standards, configuration baselines, and support procedures. Reliability, Performance & Availability - Monitor platform health, availability, capacity, and performance. - Implement high-availability, disaster recovery, and resilience solutions. - Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning activities. - Build dashboards and alerts using tools such as **Grafana, Azure Monitor, or similar observability platforms** . Automation & Infrastructure as Code - Automate operational processes using **Ansible, Bash, Python, and PowerShell** . - Create reusable automation for provisioning, configuration management, patching, compliance, and recovery validation. - Leverage Infrastructure as Code tools such as **Terraform or Bicep** . - Drive standardization and eliminate operational inefficiencies through automation. Cloud & Modernization - Support Linux and database workloads across **on-premises, virtualized, and Azure cloud environments** . - Contribute to cloud migration and modernization initiatives. - Work with Azure technologies including Virtual Machines, Azure Arc, and Managed Database Services. - Partner with architecture teams to establish and improve cloud operational standards. Security & Compliance - Implement security hardening, access controls, encryption, vulnerability remediation, and compliance requirements. - Maintain OS and database patching strategies and lifecycle management. - Support audits and regulatory compliance activities. Incident & Operational Management - Participate in incident response, problem management, and root cause analysis. - Plan and execute changes following ITIL best practices. - Ensure operational readiness for new services, including monitoring, backups, documentation, and support ownership. - Participate in on-call support and scheduled maintenance activities when required. Required Skills & Experience Must-Have Skills - Strong hands-on experience in **Linux Administration (RHEL and/or Ubuntu)** . - Experience administering one or more databases: **SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL** . - Expertise in: - High Availability & Disaster Recovery - Backup & Recovery - Performance Tuning - Capacity Management - Security Hardening - Strong scripting and automation skills using **Ansible, Bash, Python, or PowerShell** . - Experience supporting **Microsoft Azure** or other public cloud platforms. - Knowledge of IT Service Management processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration Management). - Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills. Good-to-Have Skills - Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep). - Azure Arc and Azure-native monitoring solutions. - Grafana and enterprise observability platforms. - Hybrid cloud infrastructure operations. - Experience in global enterprise environments.
