This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards while maintaining strong client relationships and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities Project Planning and Execution Develop comprehensive project plans including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation for MEP systems. Coordinate all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installation activities from design through commissioning. Manage project timelines and critical paths to ensure milestones are achieved. Oversee procurement of MEP equipment, materials, and subcontractor services. Technical Coordination Review and approve MEP design drawings, specifications, and shop drawings for compliance with project requirements and building codes. Coordinate MEP systems integration with architectural and structural elements to resolve conflicts. Conduct site inspections to verify installation quality and adherence to approved designs. Ensure proper testing, balancing, and commissioning of all MEP systems. Stakeholder Management Serve as primary point of contact for clients regarding MEP project matters. Lead coordination meetings with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors. Manage relationships with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing subcontractors. Communicate project status, risks, and issues to senior management and stakeholders. Budget and Cost Control Develop and manage MEP project budgets, tracking costs against forecasts. Review and approve subcontractor invoices and change orders. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety. Prepare financial reports and variance analyses. Quality and Compliance Ensure all MEP work complies with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards. Implement and monitor quality control procedures throughout project lifecycle. Manage punch list items and warranty issues related to MEP systems. Maintain comprehensive project documentation including as-built drawings. Risk Management Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Manage safety protocols for MEP installation activities. Address and resolve technical issues and conflicts promptly. Ensure proper insurance and bonding requirements are met. Required Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field. Minimum 5-7 years of experience managing MEP projects in commercial, industrial, or institutional settings. Proven track record of successfully delivering complex MEP projects on time and within budget. Technical Skills Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Proficiency in reading and interpreting MEP drawings, specifications, and building codes. Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection software (Revit, Navisworks). Familiarity with project management software (MS Project, Primavera, or similar). Professional Skills Excellent project management and organizational abilities. Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Effective communication and negotiation skills. Problem-solving aptitude and decision-making abilities under pressure. Financial acumen and budget management expertise. Preferred Qualifications PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar project management certification. Professional engineering license (PE) in relevant discipline.
