What will your day look like. • Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL Server databases, stored procedures, functions, views, and ETL processes. • Architect and implement database solutions on Azure using services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, and related components. • Optimize and tune SQL queries, indexes, and database configurations for high performance and reliability. • Implement and maintain data security, backup/recovery, and high availability/disaster recovery strategies. • Collaborate with architects, application developers, BI/analytics teams, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical database designs. • Review and enforce development standards, best practices, and code quality for SQL and data solutions. • Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes. • Contribute to capacity planning, monitoring, and continuous improvement of database and data platform capabilities. Skills and experience that will lead to success. • 6+ years of hands-on experience in SQL Server development and database design. • Expert-level proficiency with T-SQL (complex queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, views). • Strong experience in logical and physical data modelling (OLTP and/or OLAP), normalization/denormalization, indexing strategies, and partitioning. • Proven experience designing and implementing solutions on Microsoft Azure, including: • Azure SQL Database / Azure SQL Managed Instance • Azure Data Factory (pipelines, datasets, integration runtimes) • Azure Storage (Blob, Data Lake) and related services • Solid understanding of performance tuning, query optimization, and database profiling tools. • Experience with ETL/ELT processes and integrating data from multiple sources. • Good understanding of security, compliance, and governance in database and cloud environments (encryption, access control, roles, secrets management). • Experience with source control and CI/CD for database changes (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps, pipelines). • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. India | Risk and Human Capital Proprietary & Confidential Preferred/Good-to-Have • Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, or other advanced analytics platforms. • Exposure to Power BI or other reporting/visualization tools. • Knowledge of NoSQL / non-relational data stores on Azure (e.g., Cosmos DB). • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. • Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Database Administrator Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate).
