Job Description The AI Engineer is responsible for implementing, deploying, supporting, and optimizing the technical components that power enterprise AI solutions. This role focuses on AI infrastructure, APIs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, vector databases, enterprise integrations, cloud deployment, monitoring, and operational support. The AI Engineer works closely with AI Developers and product teams to ensure AI solutions are secure, scalable, reliable, and maintainable in production environments. While AI Developers own business-facing AI applications and user experiences, the AI Engineer owns the technical foundation that enables those solutions to operate effectively at scale. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Implement and support AI infrastructure including RAG pipelines, embeddings workflows, vector search, document ingestion, APIs, backend services, and integration services. • Develop and maintain integrations with enterprise platforms such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, ERP systems, and other business applications, ensuring reliability, performance, and security. • Deploy and operate AI solutions in Azure, maintain CI/CD and monitoring processes, troubleshoot incidents, and drive improvements in scalability, performance, security, and cost optimization. • Collaborate with AI Developers and product teams on technical design, implementation planning, documentation, support procedures, and adherence to engineering and governance standards. • Monitor AI service utilization and recommend optimizations related to performance, scalability, and consumption costs. EXPERIENCE • 3–6 years of software, cloud, data, integration, or AI-related engineering experience, including 1–3 years supporting or optimizing AI / Generative AI solutions in a business environment. • Experience developing APIs, integrations, backend services, or cloud-based applications in Azure or comparable platforms. • Experience supporting production systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and working within Agile, cross-functional delivery teams. EDUCATION • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may also be considered. REQUIRED SKILLS • Programming and development: Python, SQL, REST APIs, JSON, Git/GitHub, software testing, and debugging. • AI technologies: Azure OpenAI Services or OpenAI APIs, LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector search, and AI integration patterns. • Cloud and operations: Microsoft Azure, Azure AI Services, Azure AI Search, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring/logging tools. • Data and knowledge management: vector databases, enterprise search solutions, document processing pipelines, data ingestion workflows, and knowledge management architectures. PREFERRED SKILLS • Experience with orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or similar tools, along with Azure AI Search and vector database technologies. • Experience integrating Copilot Studio, AI agents, or workflow automation solutions with enterprise platforms. • Exposure to enterprise security, governance, compliance, and data management practices; Azure or AI-related certifications are a plus.
