Job Description Lead Consultant – DevOps & Cloud Engineer In this role, the DevOps & Cloud Engineer is a specialized professional who designs, develops, and maintains robust, scalable search and indexing systems utilizing technologies like Apache SolrCloud, ZooKeeper, and associated backend services. This role bridges the gap between complex data processing, distributed search infrastructure, and application development, ensuring that data is indexed efficiently, retrieved rapidly, and the search platform remains highly available, secure, and performant for critical business operations. Responsibility: • Design, deploy, and maintain highly available Apache SolrCloud clusters in production environments. • Configure and manage ZooKeeper clusters to support distributed SolrCloud operations. • Develop and enhance RESTful APIs for search, indexing, and data retrieval services. • Build scalable backend applications and microservices using Scala. • Develop Python scripts for automation, monitoring, deployment, and operational tasks. • Manage Solr collections, shards, replicas, indexing pipelines, and schema configurations. • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot Solr, ZooKeeper, and application-related issues. • Optimize search relevancy, query response times, and indexing performance. • Create and maintain Docker images and containerized deployments for applications and services. • Administer Linux servers, including system monitoring, patching, security, and performance tuning. • Automate routine operational activities using Shell and Python scripting. • Perform root cause analysis and resolve production incidents in a timely manner. • Collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable solutions. • Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks. • Follow best practices for security, scalability, high availability, and system reliability.
