Discover Impactful Work:As a Sr. Lab Support Engineer you will provide system analysis and maintenance of new and existing laboratory instrumentation at various sites. Work with staff of various departments and produce requirements and facilitate the validation and qualification for laboratory instrumentation. Troubleshoot, repair and improve instrumentation laboratory equipment, and interact with vendors for demonstration of emerging technologies for enhanced throughput of samples. Test, support the introduction, and provides ongoing support of new technologies via interaction with the various departments What You’ll Do: • Perform unit system test (i.e. IQ/OQ/PQ, Calibration) and, as needed, validation testing. • Prepare detailed system specifications based on user requirements for instrumentation for the purpose of coordinating demonstration units with vendors. • Develop/supervise instrumentation validation protocols for introduction into mainstream analysis. • Prepare system documentation, including requirements document, specification document, test plans, user manuals, and SOPs for instrumentation. • Oversee installment of new instrumentation. Train staff and coordinate deployment to operational areas. Troubleshoot and train oncoming staff in the troubleshooting of existing instrumentation. • Oversee/supervise junior level staff responsible for the same tasks. • Discover and implement ways to increase instrument performance and productivity. • Evaluate lab support records for compliance with SOPs, reviews for completeness and accuracy and reports findings. Education and Experience: • Bachelor's degree (Life Sciences degree preferred) or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 8+ years). In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
