Our AI Enterprise Engineering team is extending Qira into an enterprise-ready platform adopted by business customers at scale. About the Role The Sr. Manager, AI Enterprise Engineering, APAC leads Lenovo's Asia-Pacific engineering team for Qira for Enterprise, spanning the Asia-Pacific region. This is both a people-management and a functional-leadership role: you build, staff, and scale the regional team, direct much of its technical work, own its delivery and quality, and provide follow-the-sun coverage in partnership with the global team. You are the solid-line people manager for engineers based across the Asia-Pacific region, and in most cases you also serve as their functional lead, directing their day-to-day technical work. In some cases, an engineer may instead take functional direction on a dotted line from another global manager who owns that workstream; where that happens, you remain their solid-line people manager, owning hiring, performance, delivery, and career growth. Your job is to turn all of this into shipped work through a strong, well-run APAC team. What You’ll Do - Build and lead the APAC engineering team across the Asia-Pacific region, hiring and scaling individual contributors to deliver Qira for Enterprise. - Own people management for the region: hiring, onboarding, performance, career development, retention, and day-to-day staffing. - Run regional delivery: plan and execute sprints, safeguard quality, and deliver enterprise features on time across time zones with the US team. - Contribute hands-on to technical design, architecture, and development alongside the team; this is a hands-on role as much as a leadership role, and the expectation is that you can build what you are directing others to build. - Manage engineers across multiple locations in Asia-Pacific, providing both people management and functional/technical direction for the team. In some cases an engineer may take functional direction from another global manager on a dotted line, while you retain people management, owning their hiring, performance, delivery, and career growth. - Partner with the functional leads to align priorities, resolve competing demands, and keep APAC engineers effectively directed, unblocked, and delivering. - Manage systems-integrator and contractor relationships where used to scale offshore capacity, including delivery quality and conversion to full-time staff over time. - Coordinate closely with US-based leads and the Director on roadmap, dependencies, and clean cross-site handoffs. - Establish regional engineering practices, tooling adoption, and adherence to enterprise security and compliance standards consistent with the broader organization. - Represent APAC delivery status, risks, and staffing needs to leadership. Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of experience managing and leading software engineering teams to deliver cross-functional initiatives. - 12+ years of experience building and scaling distributed systems, platforms, or real-time products. - Experience building and scaling software engineering teams in the Asia-Pacific region. - Track record delivering enterprise software in a distributed, multi-time-zone environment. - A strong technical foundation (backend and cloud) sufficient to guide the team and engage credibly in technical discussions. - Demonstrated ability to serve as a hands-on technical leader who can contribute to production code. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications - 7+ years of experience managing and leading software engineering teams to deliver cross-functional initiatives. - 15+ years of experience building and scaling distributed systems, platforms, or real-time products, ideally including 5 years building AI products. - Experience managing teams across multiple Asia-Pacific locations, and/or managing systems-integrator or contractor teams. - Experience delivering enterprise identity and authentication, cloud deployment (BYOC), or AI/LLM-based applications. - Experience operating in a matrixed organization where functional leads set priorities and a regional manager owns people and delivery. - Familiarity with the team’s toolchain (GitHub, Cursor, Li
