Your impact begins on day one, and your contributions will help define our future in the region Organization / Role Description The Sr.Manager, Quality Engineering role is a people leadership position within Schwab Data India responsible for building, leading, and developing a high-performing QA team that supports enterprise data engineering initiatives. This role partners closely with development managers, architects, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure strong quality practices, effective test strategy, and reliable execution across a portfolio of data and platform deliveries. As part of the OneSchwab/OneGCC model, this leader will drive quality outcomes through team leadership, delivery planning, coaching, operational discipline, and continuous improvement across manual and automated testing. The role is ideal for a people manager who is passionate about developing talent, strengthening engineering quality, and building a collaborative QA culture in a fast-paced, regulated enterprise environment. ## **What you have** Key Responsibilities QA Team Leadership & Delivery Quality - Team Leadership & Development and Delivery: Build, lead, and develop a high-performing QA team by providing coaching, feedback, performance management, and career development support. - Test Strategy & Planning: Define and maintain test strategy across an assigned portfolio, plan testing activities and release cycles, and ensure appropriate test coverage for new development, enhancements, and production fixes. - Quality Execution Oversight: Oversee functional, regression, UAT validation, and defect management activities to ensure timely, high-quality delivery across the QA portfolio. - Stakeholder Partnership: Partner with product owners, development teams, and business stakeholders from PI planning through release to align priorities, communicate risks, and provide QA status and signoff. - Automation & Process Improvement: Drive adoption of automation, reusable test assets, and engineering best practices to improve quality, efficiency, and repeatability across the team. - Operational Risk Management: Proactively manage risks, defect leakage trends, and delivery issues that may impact quality, scope, or schedule, and ensure timely escalation and resolution. Ideal Candidate Profile Required Qualifications Technical Expertise and Educational Requirements Ideal Candidate Profile: - 20+ years of overall experience with significant experience in Quality Engineering, Data Warehouse, ETL, or enterprise data platforms. - Proven experience leading QA teams, including coaching, work allocation, performance management, and developing team capability. - Experience managing test strategy, execution, and release readiness across multiple projects or a portfolio in an Agile environment. - Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence stakeholders, resolve issues, and build effective partnerships across product, engineering, and business teams. Required Experience - Strong experience in Quality Engineering leadership for Data Warehouse and ETL applications, preferably including IICS or PowerCenter environments. - Experience defining test strategy, managing test planning and execution, and driving functional, regression, and UAT validation across complex delivery portfolios. - Hands-on understanding of SQL, Python, Unix/shell scripting, and cloud technologies such as GCP to effectively lead and support technical QA teams. - Working knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Bamboo, Bitbucket, GitHub, or GitHub Actions, along with automation practices relevant to enterprise QA. - Experience in Agile delivery using tools such as Jira or Rally, with strong understanding of software development lifecycle and release coordination. - Demonstrated strength in defect triage, root-cause analysis, risk management, and communicating test status and outcomes to stakeholders. - Proven ability to manage competing priorities, lead through ambiguity, and maintain high standards of quality and accountability across a team. - Institutes robust methods to optimize change coordination - Enhances data analysis processes and procedures to drive operational efficiency - Optimizes methods for integrating, consolidating, and cleansing data with compliance - Establishes comprehensive methods to manage and enhance data assets - Leads innovative data modeling methods and optimizes processes - Implements advanced QA testing methodologies and drives robust compliance verification Skills and Attributes - People
