Role Overview We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Data Scientist / Business Analyst to join the HTC team. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to collaborate in developing robust data standards and ontologies while serving as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams. You will play a critical role in translating laboratory, quality, and operational needs into clearly defined, testable, and traceable requirements, ensuring our data ecosystems are connected, contextualized, and compliant. Key Responsibilities Business Analysis & Stakeholder Alignment • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to bridge the gap between laboratory operations and IT solutions. • Translate laboratory, quality, and operational needs into clearly defined, testable, and traceable requirements. • Own end-to-end requirements lifecycle management, business process definition, and ensure strict traceability between intended business outcomes and delivered system functionality. • Ensure integration solutions align with business objectives, regulatory expectations, and end‑user workflows. Data Strategy, Ontologies, & Contextualization • Develop and document data‑standardization strategies, ontology utilization guidelines, and application‑governance practices for LIMS and LES data objects to enable harmonized, FAIR‑aligned data management. • Support and orchestrate the alignment of chromatographic ASM structures between Research and Manufacturing divisions to ensure consistent standards, terminology, and execution logic across domains. Systems Architecture & Integration • Lead the design and facilitation of cross‑platform data‑flow architectures spanning environments such as Biovia LES, CISPro, MODA-EM, Empower, and enterprise data lakes. • Ensure seamless integration delivery through platforms including Scitara DLX, Empower, BIOVIA, MODA-EM, SoftMaxPro, Labware LIMS, and LabX. Risk Management & Governance • Independently conduct data‑strategy risk assessments. • Clearly communicate assessment findings to project leadership, ensuring proactive visibility into system, workflow, and interoperability risks. Qualifications & Skills • Proven experience in Business Analysis or Data Science within a laboratory, scientific, or pharmaceutical environment. • Strong understanding of FAIR data principles, ontologies, and data contextualization. • Familiarity with lab informatics and integration platforms (e.g., Scitara DLX, Empower, BIOVIA, Labware LIMS, LabX, CISPro, MODA-EM, SoftMaxPro). • Exceptional ability to define and manage business processes, requirements lifecycles, and cross-functional traceability. • Strong analytical, communication, and risk-assessment capabilities. Education & Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree (preferred fields Engineering, Life Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline). • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in regulated environments (pharmaceutical, life sciences, or manufacturing preferred). • Demonstrated experience working within SDLC and validation frameworks (GxP, cGMP). • Strong understanding of lab operations, quality systems, or laboratory informatics. • Excellent written, verbal, and facilitation skills. • Ability to work independently and influence across organizational boundaries. Preferred Experience • Experience supporting lab systems (Empower, BIOVIA, MODA-EM, LabwareLIMS, Scitara DLX). • Certified PMI-PBA or IIBA-CBAP or CCBA • Familiarity with change control processes (e.g. Veeva) and digital SDLC (e.g. Kneat). • Experience with digital workflows, data integrity, and compliance‑driven implementations. • Hands‑on experience with Jira, Confluence, and requirements traceability tools (e.g., Xray).
