Job description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data in a variety of areas. It is essential that this candidate brings analytical and organizational skills in order to best support the accounting team. **Key Responsibilities** **Inventory Accounting** - Work within NetSuite's Advanced Inventory module to monitor inventory activity, analyze inventory transactions, support inventory reconciliations, and ensure accurate inventory valuation and financial reporting. - Prepare and maintain monthly inventory account reconciliations. - Reconcile inventory subledgers to the general ledger and investigate variances. - Analyze inventory adjustments, write-offs, transfers, and inventory-related transactions. - Assist with inventory reserve calculations, including excess and obsolete inventory reserves. - Review inventory aging and support inventory valuation analyses. - Ensure inventory transactions are accurately recorded and reflected in financial statements. - Assist with month-end inventory close activities. **General Accounting** - Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules. - Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and account analyses. - Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. - Research and resolve accounting discrepancies. - Assist with external audit requests and supporting documentation. - Maintain accounting records in accordance with US GAAP. **Required Qualifications** - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. - 3-5+ years of accounting experience. - 1-3 years of inventory accounting or inventory-related accounting experience. - 2+ years of NetSuite experience. - Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and account reconciliations. - Experience supporting month-end close processes. - Strong Microsoft Excel skills. - Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. **Preferred Qualifications** - CA or CPA candidate. - Experience working in multi-entity environments. - Experience supporting external audits. - Familiarity with inventory costing methodologies including FIFO, Average Cost, or Standard Cost. **NetSuite Advanced Inventory Experience** Candidates should have working knowledge and practical experience with NetSuite inventory processes, including: - Inventory Valuation Reports - Inventory Activity Reports - Inventory Adjustments - Inventory Transfers - Cycle Counts and Physical Inventory Processes - Bin Management - Lot and Serial Number Tracking - Item Master Maintenance - Saved Searches and basic reporting - Inventory Cost Revaluations - Assemblies and Work Order transactions - Deep NetSuite administration expertise is not required; however, candidates should be comfortable navigating inventory transactions, researching discrepancies, and utilizing inventory-related reporting within NetSuite. **ABOUT SONATA SOFTWARE** Sonata Software, with over $1.2 Billion Revenue, is a leading AI-first Modernization Engineering company, powered by our unique PlatformationTM framework.
