**Job Area:** Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Engineering **General Summary:** We are looking for a highly experienced Staff Engineer Sensors Software to design, develop, and optimize software for next-generation sensor platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience in embedded software development, DSP programming, and operating system concepts, with a strong understanding of performance, reliability, and system-level integration. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to build robust sensor software solutions for mobile and edge devices, with a focus on low-power, real-time, and high-performance execution environments. Key Responsibilities - Design and develop software for sensor processing, data acquisition, and real-time system integration. - Work on DSP-based software architecture, optimization, and algorithm implementation. - Develop and maintain embedded software components for sensor subsystems. - Analyze and improve performance, latency, power consumption, and memory usage. - Apply strong OS concepts including scheduling, concurrency, synchronization, IPC, memory management, and thread design. - Collaborate with hardware, firmware, algorithms, and systems teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. - Debug complex system issues using logs, trace tools, and low-level analysis. - Drive software design reviews, coding best practices, and technical decision-making. - Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across the team. - Ensure software quality through unit testing, integration testing, and release readiness. Required Qualifications - 10+ years of experience in software development, preferably in embedded or systems software. - Strong hands-on experience in embedded systems programming. - Proven experience with DSP software development and optimization. - Strong understanding of operating system concepts such as: - Multithreading and synchronization - Interrupt handling - Scheduling and task management - Memory management - Device driver interaction - Proficiency in C/C++. - Good knowledge of real-time and low-power software design. - Strong debugging and problem-solving skills at system and platform level. - Experience in working with cross-functional engineering teams. Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. - OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. - OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. - 2+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
