Roles and Responsibilities : • Assign accurate medical codes to patient records using CPC, SDS, and other relevant coding systems. • Review and analyze surgical procedures performed by cardiothoracic surgeons to determine appropriate code assignments. • Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies or questions related to coding accuracy. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current coding guidelines, regulations, and industry standards. Job Requirements : • 3-6 years of experience in medical coding for general surgery or cardiac surgery. • Certification in one or more of the following: CPC (Certified Professional Coder), COC (Certified Ophthalmic Coder), or equivalent certification. • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology as they relate to vascular diseases and their treatment options.
