Learn more at cgi.com Your future duties and responsibilities Job Title: SW Supply Chain Functional SME Position: Senior Software Engineer Experience: 5–8 Years Category: Software Engineering Position ID: J0626-0971 Shift: General Shift Work Mode: 5 days WFO Primary Location: India – Bangalore CGI Office: TPLS Bangalore / E-city Bangalore Employment Type: Full Time Education Qualification: BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech/MCA/BCA **Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role** Position Description: Functional SME Role Type: Functional SME / Process & Transformation Experience Level: 5–8 years Summary of the role Looking for a highly experienced Software Supply Chain Functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) to drive process excellence, governance, and transformation across the Software Supply Chain ecosystem within the Telco Mobile Infrastructure unit. The role requires deep functional knowledge of software lifecycle, supply chain processes, and tooling landscape, with a strong focus on process updates, change implementation, and cross-functional alignment. Key Responsibilities : - Software Supply Chain Ownership (Mandatory) - Act as the primary SME for end-to-end Software Supply Chain processes - Define, standardize, and optimize processes across: - Software development lifecycle (SDLC) - Build, release, and deployment pipelines - Artifact management and distribution - License compliance and governance - Ensure alignment with Telco global software delivery standards - Process Transformation & Continuous Improvement - Analyze current supply chain processes and identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks - Drive process re-engineering initiatives to improve: Lead time Quality Compliance Automation maturity - Establish KPIs and governance models for continuous improvement - Tooling Landscape Management - Work across existing toolchains and platforms, such as: CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.) Artifact repositories (Nexus, Artifactory) Version control systems (Git-based platforms) - Assess current tooling landscape and recommend enhancements or rationalization - Support integration of tools across Dev, QA, Release, and Operations - Change Implementation & Governance - Lead process updates and change implementation initiatives - Collaborate with: Development teams DevOps Release management Security and compliance teams - Ensure smooth rollout of changes with minimal business disruption - Maintain documentation, SOPs, and governance frameworks - Stakeholder & Cross-functional Collaboration - Act as a bridge between business, engineering, and operations - Facilitate workshops, requirement gathering, and solution design discussions - Provide expert guidance during: Audits Transformation programs Tool migrations - Compliance, Security & Risk Management - Ensure adherence to: Software compliance policies Open-source licensing standards Security and vulnerability management practices - Support audit readiness and regulatory compliance requirements - Training & Knowledge Enablement - Conduct training sessions for teams on: Updated processes Tool usage Best practices in software supply chain - Develop knowledge assets and playbooks Must Have skills : - Strong functional expertise in Software Supply Chain (Primary Requirement) - Deep understanding of: SDLC & DevOps practices CI/CD pipelines Software release and distribution models - Experience in process definition, transformation, and governance - Hands-on exposure to enterprise tooling ecosystems Technical & Domain Skills - Experience with tools like: Git, GitLab, Jenkins Nexus / Artifactory CI/CD orchestration tools - Knowledge of: Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) – preferred Software compliance & security frameworks - Familiarity with telco domain / network software delivery is a strong advantage Soft Skills - Strong stakeholder management and communication skills - Analytical and problem-solving mindset - Ability to work in complex global environments - Change leadership and influencing skills **Qualifications** - Bachelor's / Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field - Relevant certifications in DevOps / Agile / ITIL (preferred) Nice to Have - Experience in telecom software environments (RAN, Core, OSS like NetAct/SON) - Exposure to large-scale transformation programs - Knowledge of secure software supply chain frameworks (e.g., SBOM, SLSA) Success Metrics - Improved software delivery efficiency and cycle time - Reduction in defects and production incidents - Increased automation and toolchain maturity - Compliance adherence and audit success rate CGI is an equal opportunity employer.
