**Role Summary** **The Mechanical Design engineer will be responsible for supporting the design and** **development of launch vehicle structures and stage systems, including cryogenic stages. The** **role involves generating and maintaining vehicle-level CAD models, supporting subsystem** **integration, and ensuring mechanical configuration consistency across the launch vehicle.** **Key Responsibilities** - **Support mechanical design and layout of launch vehicle stages, including tanks,** **interstages, thrust structures, and secondary structures.** - **Understand and contribute to cryogenic stage design, including propellant tanks,** **insulation systems, feedline routing, and structural interfaces.** - **Develop and maintain vehicle-level 3D CAD models and assemblies.** - **Ensure configuration control and CAD model consistency across vehicle subsystems.** - **Support packaging and integration of propulsion, avionics, structures, and mechanism** **systems within the vehicle architecture.** - **Generate engineering drawings, interface models, and integration documentation.** - **Coordinate with analysis teams (structures, thermal, propulsion) to support design** **iterations and mass optimization.** - **Support design reviews (PDR, CDR) and maintain engineering documentation.** **Required Qualifications** - **Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.** - **Strong understanding of launch vehicle architecture and stage systems.** - **Exposure to cryogenic stage systems and propellant tank design.** - **Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (CATIA / Siemens NX / SolidWorks).** - **Experience in assembly modeling, interface definition, and configuration management.** **Preferred Skills & Key Attributes** - **1-5 years of experience in launch vehicle, missiles, rocket propulsion, or aerospace** **structural systems.** - **Knowledge of cryogenic propellants (LOX, LH2, LCH4) and associated mechanical design** **considerations.** - **Familiarity with metallic and composite aerospace structures.** - **Understanding of vehicle integration and packaging constraints.** - **Detail-oriented CAD modeling and design discipline.** - **Strong system-level understanding & Ability to work in cross-functional engineering teams.** - **Problem-solving mindset in fast-paced development programs.**
