The System Validation Engineer (Power) plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and performance of wearable hardware products (AI glasses, wristbands). This position involves designing, executing, and analyzing comprehensive power/charging validation plans to guarantee that hardware meets product requirements across all development phases. We shine the brightest when we tap into the many dimensions that thrive across over 21,000 difference-makers in our workplace. **Work Experience** **Responsibilities** - Define and execute electrical validation methodologies for power subsystems (battery, charging, power management ICs, power tree) - Develop and track detailed test plans for power/battery/charging modules and top-level system power - Validate power state transitions (active, standby, sleep, ship mode, shutdown) and power consumption against KPIs - Characterize system power consumption across use cases (idle, streaming, AI, camera capture, BT audio, OTA) - Own execution, interpretation, and reporting of power validation results - Drive validation efforts to meet key milestone deadlines (PRQ gate reviews) - Support system bring-up and debug activities for new builds - Design and expand EE test automation (Python/LabVIEW scripts for power measurement automation) - Clearly document test results and track bugs encountered and fixed **Requirements** - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience - 4–6+ years of experience in electrical system verification for consumer electronics - Experience with power validation test plans and developing detailed electrical validation SOPs - Hands-on experience with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, DMMs, e-loads, power supplies, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and temp chambers - Understanding of board schematics and power tree design, finding proper probe locations, and identifying potential points of failure - Working knowledge of Python, LabVIEW, or other programming languages for data processing and automation **Preferred Qualifications** - 5+ years in the consumer electronics industry - 5+ years of hands-on characterization and testing in battery and charging systems - Direct experience with wearable devices or similar miniaturized power-constrained systems - Experience with embedded systems and mobile chipsets (Qualcomm, NXP MCU) - Expertise in producing technical documentation for complex systems **Benefits** - Lead quality and validation for **cutting-edge wearable products**, directly influencing safety, reliability, and user experience. - High-visibility ownership of **launch-critical** decisions and cross-functional alignment across HW/FW/SW teams. - Strong leadership growth path in system validation, system health (power/thermal/perf), and end-to-end product readiness.
