**BTS Tax Operate - Tax Consultant II (USI)** Role Summary The Tax Consultant II will provide day-to-day engagement management support across U.S. and global tax compliance engagements. The role is hands-on and execution-focused, supporting delivery coordination, status tracking, issue management, reporting, and platform administration to help drive a consistent and organized engagement experience. Tax Consultant II will have ownership of workstreams, coordination, and issue resolution. Engagement Management and Delivery Support - Support day-to-day governance and project management across tax compliance engagements. - Assist in planning, scheduling, and executing action items to support timely delivery. - Monitor engagement activity against established protocols and filing deadlines; flag delays or risks promptly. - Prepare periodic status reports, trackers, and presentation materials for internal and client use. - Document issues, actions taken, and resolutions accurately and consistently. - Support administration of web-based platforms used for engagement tracking, including access setup, contact updates, and routine maintenance. - Ensure deliverables are posted and return status is updated accurately. - Build strong working relationships with service line teams and client engagement team members. U.S. Tax Compliance Responsibilities - Support governance and project management across U.S. corporate income tax and investment management tax compliance engagements, including federal and state compliance, partnership returns, K-1 preparation and distribution, and fund and entity-level reporting. - Track service line activity, workplan status, and deliverables across U.S. engagements. - Assist with engagement reporting, financial tracking, and ad hoc analysis using Excel and PowerPoint. Global Tax Compliance Responsibilities - Support global governance and project management across global tax compliance engagements through Deloitte platforms such as Intela. - Monitor local member firm activity against engagement protocols and tax filing deadlines. - Help coordinate regular status calls with EMO, regional, and local country teams to discuss progress and resolve issues. - Track posting of engagement deliverables, return status, and local team updates across jurisdictions. - Support central billing, scope tracking, and related engagement coordination activities where applicable. Transitions and Pursuit Support - Assist with onboarding and transition activities for new engagements, including platform setup, transition tracking, and follow-up on open items. - Maintain transition trackers and support timely completion of onboarding tasks. - Assist with setup of new opportunities in Pursuit Manager and follow up on member firm inputs. - Provide first-level support in reviewing fee inputs against indicative assumptions. Qualifications / Experience - Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field. - 1–3 years of relevant experience; internship or prior exposure to tax, finance, or professional services is a plus. - Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. - Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. - Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities. - Ability to work effectively in a virtual environment. - Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx is a plus. - Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity and workflow tools is an advantage. **Our purpose** Deloitte’s purpose is to make an impact that matters for our people, clients, and communities.
