**Location** - Chennai **Exp** - 8-10 years **Skills** - AIX **Responsibilities** - Leading and supporting the L1 and L2 teams in Linux system administration. - Ability to manage Linux environment, Strong experience on file system management, package management, patch management, LVM management, NFS, troubleshooting. - Server installation, Administration, and performance optimization with Linux flavors. - Troubleshoot problems with deployed servers or perform new deployments from scratch. - Experience in Linux HA clusters in build and configurations. - Perform OS patch management, application upgrades and server migrations for Linux based systems. - Knowledge of kernel parameters and their configuration. - Administering and troubleshooting disks using volume management. - Experience in network and SAN configuration. - Good understanding of network protocols like NIS, FTP, DNS, and NTP. - Knowledge & experience in monitoring, logging and cost management tools. - Problem Solving: Ability to analyze and resolve complex infrastructure resource and application deployment issues. - Perform back-up/recovery functions for Linux server environments. - Provide technical assistance to team and support for applications, hardware, software problems. - Install and maintain agents on servers for centralized monitoring and management. - Support virtualization Linux Servers hosted on VMWare, Xen, KVM or another similar hypervisor platform. - Coordination with multiple stakeholders / Third party Vendors for break-fix. - Perform all security/compliance functions for Linux server environments. - Must be able to lead the critical outage calls. - Performing root cause analysis of problems. Prepare a plan of action, implement changes, document all work completed and train support staff. - Participate in weekly/ monthly/ customer meetings and provide activities reports. - Identify and recommend improvements to existing processes and procedures. - Installation and configuration of Linux Packages/services/Software. - Working and Administration of LVM, i.e., volume group, physical volume, logical volume, file system. - Creating and Administration of Paging space, devices. - Configuring startup daemons at system starting by configuring init tabs. - Configuring NFS server, and export the share and working with those shares in clients managed shares. - Working with the error log files, troubleshoot the errors and fix the errors and running the cron jobs. - Creating manual system backups (rootvg, normal vg level, file system level, file level) and restore them as per their requirements. - Upgrading the operating system by alternate disk installation method and upgrading TL level by multibos method. - Configuring NIM master & NIM clients, creating nim resources, defining machines, perform clients recovery by using their mksysb image, new installations, TL or ML upgrades. - Configuring LPARs via HMC, Installing Operating system on LPARs using NIM, and Performing DLPAR operations on virtual servers. - Allocation (map) or de-allocation of luns, making multi-path LUNs. - Move the LPARs between frames using Live Partition Mobility. - Monitoring systems for cpu, memory, disk, paging using topas, sar, vmstat, netstat, nmon etc. - Accessing rootvg of the machine that will not boot and fixing any file systems mounting and other issues. - Installation and new server build for AIX. Migrating AIX 5.3 - 6.1 & 6.1 - 7.x. Upgrading TL or ML, Service packs, APARs, Fixes installation. - Performance Analysis and working with Nmon, Topas etc. - Troubleshooting in AIX LVM, VIOS level. - Cohesity backup troubleshooting.
