Telecom Modem Testing Engineer

Job description

**Key Skills:** **3G, 4G, 5G, LTE, NAS, RRC, Testing, Validation** **Roles and Responsibilities:** - Perform manual and automation call testing for cellular features across 2G, 3G, LTE, VoLTE, and 5G NR (SA/NSA). - Analyze NAS and RRC layer messages and validate modem behavior against 3GPP specifications. - Create, upgrade, and execute test cases aligned with IMS, 4G, and 5G requirements. - Use QXDM and QCAT for modem testing workflows and analyze logs using Wireshark. - Log, track, and manage defects in JIRA and support root-cause analysis with clear evidence. **Skills Required:** - 1 - 3 years of experience in modem/cellular testing or protocol-based testing - Cellular protocol knowledge: NAS and RRC message analysis for 2G/3G/LTE and 5G NR (SA/NSA) - Strong understanding of 3GPP specifications and call feature behavior (including VoLTE) - Hands-on testing experience including test plan creation, test case execution, and validation of IMS/LTE/5G requirements - Tooling experience: QXDM, QCAT, Wireshark log analysis, and defect tracking in JIRA Good to Have: - Validation experience for modem validation workflows and test evidence preparation **Education:** Degree in Engineering/Technology (or equivalent technical education)
