**Job Description** **Pre-Bid Design Responsibilities** - Prepare comprehensive **Technical Abstracts** for tender submissions. - Evaluate **Technical Specifications** provided by public utilities and critically interpret contractual clauses. - Review vendor drawings for all transmission-related bought-out items and align with the requirements of the Technical specification . - Draft and submit **technical queries** to clients/consultants for clarification. - Perform **SagTension Calculations** using **PLS-CADD / PLS-Lite** in compliance with relevant codes and standards. - Demonstrate strong hands-on experience in **PLS-Tower** software for executing tower design with Focus on Optimization - Design transmission line foundations using Excel-based structural calculations, ensuring cost and material optimization, and develop detailed drawings for inclusion in tender documentation.. **Contract Execution Responsibilities** - Perform **SagTension Calculations** using **PLS-CADD / PLS-Lite** as per codal provisions and Terms and Reference of the Contract. - Utilize **PLS-Tower** software with Focus on Optimization , for detailed tower design and create **final key line and clearance diagrams** for transmission tower structures using AutoCAD. - Prepare **Foundation designs in Excel** ensuring cost and material optimization and develop drawings in AutoCAD as per technical specifications. - Able to interpret the soil investigation reports and select suitable Foundation design parameters after detailed study of the reports. - Expertise in Modelling Piles / Open Foundations and simulate the soil structure interaction through finite element softwares is preferred. - Review structural and fabrication drawings prepared by draftsmen for accuracy and compliance. - Verify vendor drawings for all transmission bought-out items for compatibility with tower structures. - Respond to client comments with strong technical justification and support references from scientific Papers / Technical books. - Coordinate with site teams during project execution and commissioning, providing solutions to technical issues encountered. **Required Skills & Qualifications** - **Education**: Bachelors / Masters degree in Civil / Structural / Electrical Engineering (Masters preferred). - **Experience**: - Minimum **7 - 15 years** in transmission line design and engineering. - Proven track record in **pre-bid engineering** and **contract execution** for transmission projects. - **Technical Proficiency**: - **PLS-CADD**, **PLS-Lite**, and **PLS-Tower** for line and tower design. - **AutoCAD** for structural / Line clearance drawings / Foundation drawings. - **MS Excel** for foundation design and Experience of working with Solver and Macros would be an added advantage. - **All Pile and Prokon** for Pile Designs. - **Standards & Codes Knowledge**: - Familiarity with **IS codes, IEC standards, EN standards , ASCE standards** and other relevant transmission line design codes.
