Job description

**πŸ“ Location** Bengaluru **πŸš› Department** Design & Research **🧐 Experience** 3+ Years **About Porter** At **Porter** , we’re on a mission to **move a billion dreams** by building the most trusted, efficient, and seamless logistics platform in India. We started in 2014 with a simple vision β€” to transform intra-city logistics through technology. Today, Porter is a **late-stage startup** , serving millions of users across **21+ cities** , backed by marquee investors like **Tiger Global** , **Lightrock** , and **Sequoia** . We solve real-world problems β€” from empowering micro-entrepreneurs and truck owners, to optimizing last-mile delivery for SMEs and enterprises. Every challenge we take on has real consequences and real impact. With a sharp focus on **user obsession, ownership, and collaboration** , we’re building a workplace where people thrive when they take bold bets, move fast, and build with empathy. If you’re looking to work where **scale meets purpose** , **complexity fuels learning** , and **culture isn’t an afterthought** , Porter is the place. **About this Role** - 3+ years of hands-on UX research experience, independently leading complex projects from scoping to delivery across one or more product charters. - You'll work closely with Product and Design teams to plan and execute research at various depths and timelines β€” conducting in-field and remote research, synthesising findings, and socialise learnings within Porter - This is not a supported IC role. Full outcome ownership is the expectation β€” from scoping the right questions, all the way through to insight implementation. **Our Expectations** 🦡 **0β†’1 Product Builds** Experience contributing research where user needs and the problem space were undefined β€” not just feature-level work. 🧭 **Comfort with Ambiguity** Break down large, poorly-defined problems into structured, cohort-based research plans independently. πŸ”¬ **Mixed Methods Depth** Strong qualitative depth with the ability to integrate quantitative and analytics inputs into synthesis. πŸ’ͺ **Lead & Own Research** Define and lead research projects end-to-end β€” scoping, planning, execution, synthesis, and follow-through with PMs and Designers. πŸ—ΊοΈ **Translate Business Goals** Understand product roadmaps and metrics deeply enough to independently scope the highest-impact studies. πŸ“Š **Deliver Actionable Insights** Synthesize findings into clear reports with specific recommendations. Use storytelling and strong artefacts to drive prioritization. πŸ’‘ **Insight Influence** Tailors insight communication for different stakeholder levels. Independently drives product and design decisions through research β€” not just informs them. **Facilitation** Facilitating workshops, reviews, discovery sessions, and brainstorms will be a very regular part of your team's work. πŸ€– **AI Γ— Research** Hands-on experience using AI tools to enhance research workflows β€” and a clear point of view on where AI meaningfully raises the bar for quality and speed. 🎯 **Ownership & Adaptability** Delivers outcomes β€” not just tasks. Adjusts approach when context shifts mid-project, follows through end-to-end, and manages bandwidth trade-offs proactively. 🌱 **Mentor Junior Researchers** Formally mentor researchers in your charter. Be an informal resource across the team during reviews and ad hoc conversations. πŸ—οΈ **Build the D&R Brand** Contribute to hiring, share top learnings internally, and engage with the external research community. **Nice to have** - Some experience guiding junior researchers, even informally. A degree in Design, Psychology, or Social Sciences is a plus β€” work quality comes first. ***Porter β€” Moving a Billion Dreams Β· porter.in***
