Role : VCF Cloud Architect , VMware Cloud Foundation Exp :10 - 20 Years Location : Chennai **JOB DESCRIPTION:** **VCF Cloud Architect** *Chennai / Bangalore* We are seeking a highly skilled **VCF Cloud Architect** who will owns the **endtoend architecture, design, and strategic roadmap** for the organizations **VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)based private cloud**. This role ensures **reliable, scalable, secure, and automated delivery** of compute, storage, networking, and platform services across **management and workload domains**, operating consistently at **fleet scale**. The architect defines **platform standards**, **lifecycle and automation patterns**, and **enterprise integrations** (identity, ITSM, observability, disaster recovery), leveraging **vSphere, vSAN, NSX, SDDC Manager, VCF Operations, VCF Automation, and the VCF Installer**. **Architecture & Design** - Define the **target architecture** for VCF using **standard vs. consolidated** models; separate **management** and **VI workload** domains where appropriate. - Model **VCF Fleets, Instances, and Domains**, and specify growth, multisite patterns, and tenancy (e.g., VPCbased isolation) aligned to use cases. - Select and document platform services across **vSphere (compute), vSAN (storage), NSX (network & security), SDDC Manager (LCM), VCF Operations (unified ops), VCF Automation (selfservice)**. - Define **network virtualization and microsegmentation** patterns, load balancing, and E/W and N/S security controls on NSX. - Architect **observability, capacity, configdrift, certificate/password**, and **security posture** management through VCF Operations. **Build & Lifecycle Strategy** - Establish **Day0/1/2** build and lifecycle standards using **VCF Installer** (for new or converged environments) and **SDDC Manager** for ongoing patch/upgrade/expand across vSphere, vSAN, and NSX. - Define **repeatable build units** (clusters, domains) and JSONbased patterns for atscale deployments; institutionalize **fleetlevel** LCM. - Govern **identity and access** and **service roles** across vCenter, NSX, VCF Operations, and VCF Automation. **Automation & Consumption** - Lead adoption of **VCF Automation** tenancy models (**All App Org, VM App Org, Provider App Org**), service catalogs, and guardrails. - Define IaC patterns (e.g., Terraform/Aria Blueprints), tagging, placement policies, quotas, and approvals for **selfservice provisioning**. **Operations, Security & Compliance** - Establish **SLAs/SLOs**, capacity headroom policies, and **cost/chargeback** via VCF Operations Chargeback. - Drive **security baselines** (NSX DFW, segmentation, encryption, cert mgmt), and compliance monitoring using VCF Operations. - Align platform governance to **multicloud private cloud** outcomes (agility, resilience, policy consistency). **Migration & Expansion** - Define **migration patterns** (e.g., HCX) and domain/VPC landing zones; guide movetoVCF waves and validation. **Leadership & Enablement** - Lead design reviews, maintain **reference architecture**, blueprints, runbooks; mentor platform and ops engineers. - Partner with Security, Network, App, and FinOps teams; provide executivelevel roadmap and KPI reporting. - **Architecture:** Multidomain VCF design, HA/DR, scaleout strategies, capacity modeling - **Lifecycle Management:** SDDC Manager bundle planning, upgrade orchestration - **Operations:** Health monitoring, logging, drift remediation, compliance, certificate/password management - **Networking & Security:** NSX policy design, segmentation, load balancing, VPC architectures - **Automation:** VCF Automation org design, templates, policies, approvals, IaC pipelines - **Governance:** Identity and RBAC across vCenter, NSX, VCF Operations, and Automation - **15+ years** in enterprise infrastructure with **10+ years** architecting VMwarebased platforms; deep expertise across **vSphere, vSAN, NSX** and SDDC Manager lifecycle patterns. - Proven design experience with **VCF architecture models** (management vs. workload domains, standard vs. consolidated) and **fleet/instance/domain** concepts. - Handson with **VCF Installer** (new and converged deployments) and **VCF Operations** (health, capacity, LCM, certificates, config drift, chargeback). - Strong NSX skills: **microsegmentation**, DFW, routing/LB, VPC integrations inside VCF. - Automation background: **VCF Automation** tenancy models and selfservice patterns; IaC (Terraform/Aria).
