Job Description - -------------- Join our automotive virtualization and validation team to accelerate the development of next-generation vehicle software. As a **Virtual ECU Architect / SIL Validation Lead**, you will drive the design, development, and validation of Virtual ECU (vECU) solutions, enabling early software verification through Model-in-the-Loop (MIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and virtualization frameworks. This role combines technical leadership, system architecture expertise, and hands-on experience with automotive software virtualization across EV and conventional vehicle domains. **Your Role** You will be responsible for architecting and implementing Virtual ECU solutions, establishing SIL validation strategies, and supporting software development teams in building scalable virtual environments. Working closely with development, testing, and system engineering teams, you will ensure efficient software validation and compliance with industry standards and best practices. **In this role, you will:** * Support solutioning and architecture design activities for Virtual ECU development programs. * Develop and simulate Virtual ECUs across multiple levels of virtualization (L1 to L4). * Define and execute Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) validation strategies, test plans, and test cases for embedded automotive systems. * Collaborate with software development teams to understand software architectures, interfaces, and system dependencies. * Develop plant models to validate and evaluate virtual software behavior under various operating conditions. * Design, optimize, and enhance SIL environments, simulation platforms, and testing frameworks. * Participate in architecture, model, simulation, and design reviews, identifying potential risks and recommending improvements. * Define entry and exit criteria for SIL validation across multiple virtualization levels. * Ensure compliance with automotive standards, validation processes, and industry best practices. * Support migration and integration activities across virtualization tools and simulation platforms. * Drive automation initiatives to improve testing efficiency, repeatability, and quality. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions within project timelines. * Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineers working on virtualization and validation activities. Y**our Profile** **Mandatory Skills** * 12 years of Strong experience in AUTOSAR-based software architecture, including middleware development and integration. * Hands-on expertise with MATLAB Simulink and Stateflow modeling environments. * Extensive experience with Functional Mock-up Units (FMUs), including Co-Simulation and Model Exchange. * Strong experience with one or more virtualization platforms: * VEOS * Silver * vVirtualTarget * ETAS COSYM * ETAS VECU-BUILDER * QEMU * Experience in virtualization tool migration and platform integration. * Strong knowledge of automation frameworks and scripting languages including Python, CAPL, AutomationDesk, and related technologies. * Deep understanding of automotive domains such as: * Body Control Module (BCM) * Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) * EV Charging Systems * Battery Management Systems (BMS) * Experience with test automation environments such as ECU-Test. * Hands-on experience with measurement and calibration tools such as INCA. * Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, including UDS and DoIP protocols. * Experience using Vector CANoe for diagnostics, simulation, and validation activities. * Experience in project planning, effort estimation, and time plan preparation. * Hands-on expertise with Linux environments, Docker containerization, virtual machines (VMs), and KVM-based virtualization. * Proven experience across virtualization levels (L1--L4), supporting both open-loop and closed-loop simulation environments. * Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration abilities. **Preferred Skills** * Strong expertise in MIL (Model-in-the-Loop) and SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) environments. * Experience with PIL (Processor-in-the-Loop) validation frameworks. * Hands-on experience with automotive communication protocols including: * CAN * LIN * Automotive Ethernet * Experience with test management platforms such as: * X-Ray * HP Quality Center (ALM) * Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies and engineering practices. * Understanding of ASAM XiL standards and virtualization frameworks. * Experience supporting continuous integration and automated verification pipelines. * Knowledge of software-defined vehicle (SDV) development and virtual validation ecosystems. **What You'll Love About Working Here** * Opportunity to work on cutting-edge virtual validation and Software-Defined Vehicle initiatives. * Exposure to advanced virtualization, simulation, and automotive software platforms. * Collaboration with global automotive OEMs and engineering teams. * Continuous learning across AUTOSAR, EV technologies, and validation methodologies. * Technical leadership opportunities within strategic vehicle software programs. * Innovation-driven culture focused on quality, automation, and engineering excellence. **About Capgemini in India** Capgemini is an AI-powered global business and technology transformation partner, delivering tangible business value.
