Exp :8 - 16 Years Location : Chennai **JOB DESCRIPTION:** **VMware Subject Matter Expert (SME)** *Chennai / Bangalore* We are seeking a highly skilled VMware Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for the deployment, administration, optimization, and support of VMware virtual infrastructure, covering both compute (vSphere/ESXi) and storage platforms (SAN and vSAN). **Compute (vSphere) Management** - Design, deploy, and manage VMware vSphere infrastructure, including: ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, Resource pools, clusters, and datastores - Configure and maintain High Availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), vMotion / Storage vMotion, Fault Tolerance (FT) - Perform **capacity planning and performance tuning** (CPU, memory, NUMA awareness) - Manage ESXi host lifecycle including patching, upgrades, and firmware coordination - Troubleshoot complex computerelated issues and perform rootcause analysis **Storage (SAN & vSAN) Management** - Manage and support SAN storage platforms (FC / iSCSI / NFS) integrated with VMware: Datastore provisioning, Multipathing (NMP / PSP), Storage performance and latency analysis, vSAN health and performance monitoring **Operations & Lifecycle Management** - Perform **Day1 and Day2 operations** for VMware platforms - Execute **patching, upgrades, and maintenance windows** with minimal downtime - Maintain compliance with VMware best practices and internal standards - Monitor infrastructure health and performance using vCenter and vRealize / Aria Operations - Create and maintain **runbooks, SOPs, and operational documentation** - Use **PowerCLI** or scripts to automate routine operational tasks - VMware vSphere architecture and administration - SAN and vSAN storage design and operations - VM performance tuning and capacity management - Troubleshooting and rootcause analysis - Storage policybased management (SPBM) - Backup, recovery, and DR fundamentals - Documentation and operational excellence - **7+ years** experience managing enterprise VMware environments - Strong expertise in **VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter)** - Strong experience with **SAN storage technologies** (FC/iSCSI/NFS) and **vSAN** - Handson knowledge of HA, DRS, vMotion, VMFS, Datastore design, Storage multipathing and latency troubleshooting Interested candidates can share their resumes **to himaja.madala@tcs.com**
