**Job Title:-Observability Engineer / Monitoring Specialist** **Experience:-**5 10 Years **Location:-**Chennai (24x7 Support / On-call as required) **Department:-**Information Technology (IT) IT Operations / Monitoring & Observability **Job Summary** We are looking for a skilled **Observability Engineer** with strong experience in monitoring and troubleshooting distributed systems across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments. The candidate will be responsible for designing monitoring frameworks, ensuring system visibility, and supporting incident management using industry-leading observability tools. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Observability & Monitoring (SME Role) - Act as **Observability SME** to ensure end-to-end visibility across systems and applications - Implement monitoring strategies for infrastructure and application layers 2. Dashboard & Alert Management - Design and maintain **dashboards, alerts, and health indicators** - Configure proactive alerting to prevent incidents 3. Incident Management & RCA - Perform **Root Cause Analysis (RCA)** using logs, metrics, traces, and events - Support **major incidents and production issues** - Ensure timely resolution and escalation handling 4. Collaboration & Reliability - Work closely with **application, DevOps, and operations teams** - Improve system reliability and performance based on observability insights - Support production releases and system stability 5. Tooling & Integration - Work with observability tools such as: - **Dynatrace** - **Datadog** - **Grafana** - **AppDynamics** - **ELK Stack** - Integrate monitoring tools with **ServiceNow (ITSM platform)** 6. Continuous Improvement - Identify monitoring gaps and improve system visibility - Enhance alerting accuracy and reduce false positives **Mandatory Skills** - Strong understanding of **metrics, logs, traces, and events** - Hands-on with **Dynatrace / Datadog / Grafana / AppDynamics / ELK** - Experience in monitoring **cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments** - Incident management & RCA expertise - Knowledge of **ITIL processes and ServiceNow** **Good-to-Have Skills** - Experience in large enterprise environments - Basic scripting or automation knowledge - Familiarity with DevOps or SRE practices **Soft Skills** - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills - Good communication and teamwork abilities - Ability to work under pressure in critical situations - Proactive and solution-oriented mindset **Working Conditions** - Willingness to work in a **24x7 support environment** - Availability for **on-call and production support activities** **Educational Qualification** - Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (preferred) **Primary Skills (For Portal Entry)** - Observability - Monitoring Tools - Dynatrace / Datadog / Grafana - ELK Stack - Incident Management - ServiceNow
