**Job Title:-Network Security Engineer FortiGate Firewall** **Experience:-5 10 Years** **Location:- Chennai(24x7 Support / On-call as required)** **Department:-Information Technology (IT) – Network Security / Cyber Security** **Job Summary** We are looking for an experienced **Network Security Engineer** with strong expertise in **FortiGate firewall administration**. The candidate will be responsible for configuring, managing, and securing enterprise network environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance. The role requires hands-on experience with **VPNs, SD-WAN, HA clusters, and security monitoring tools** like FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Firewall Administration & Configuration - Administer and manage **FortiGate firewalls (FortiOS 5.x / 6.x / 7.x)** across multiple locations - Configure and maintain **security policies, NAT, VIPs, and IP Pools** - Perform firmware upgrades, backups, and rollback planning 2. Network Security & Threat Monitoring - Monitor and analyze logs using **FortiAnalyzer** - Detect, respond, and mitigate **security threats and vulnerabilities** - Implement and manage **UTM features (IPS, IDS, Web Filtering, Antivirus, Application Control)** 3. VPN & Secure Connectivity - Configure and troubleshoot **IPsec VPNs, SSL-VPN, and site-to-site tunnels** - Resolve authentication and connectivity issues efficiently 4. High Availability & SD-WAN - Design and manage **HA clusters and failover configurations** - Implement and optimize **SD-WAN policies** for performance and resilience 5. Routing, Switching & Network Optimization - Work with network protocols: **TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS** - Configure **traffic shaping, QoS, and load balancing** for optimized network performance 6. Monitoring, Audits & Compliance - Perform **daily health checks, audits, and traffic analysis** - Ensure adherence to **security standards (NIST, ISO 27001)** - Support audit and compliance activities 7. Incident & Problem Management (L2/L3 Support) - Provide **Level 2 / Level 3 support** for firewall-related issues - Troubleshoot connectivity and security incidents - Collaborate with cross-functional teams for issue resolution 8. Documentation & Knowledge Management - Maintain detailed documentation of **firewall configurations, architecture diagrams, and changes** - Ensure proper knowledge transfer and SOP updates **Mandatory Skills** - FortiGate Firewall (FortiOS 5.x / 6.x / 7.x) - Network Security & Firewall Configuration - VPN Technologies (IPsec, SSL-VPN) - FortiManager & FortiAnalyzer - UTM Features (IPS, IDS, Web Filtering, Antivirus) - Routing & Switching (OSPF, BGP, VLANs) - HA & SD-WAN **Good-to-Have Skills** - Exposure to **security audits and compliance (NIST, ISO 27001)** - Knowledge of **WAF, Proxy, Email Security solutions** - Experience in large enterprise environments **Soft Skills** - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills - Good communication and teamwork abilities - Ability to handle high-priority incidents under pressure - Ownership and proactive problem-solving mindset **Working Conditions** - Willingness to work in **24x7 support environment** - Availability for **on-call and escalations support** **Educational Qualification** - Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (preferred) **Hiring Note** Candidate should have strong hands-on experience in **FortiGate firewall technologies**, with the ability to manage **enterprise network security environments**, ensure compliance, and provide L2/L3 support for critical incidents. **Primary Skills (For Portal Entry)** - FortiGate Firewall - Network Security - VPN (IPsec / SSL) - SD-WAN - FortiManager / FortiAnalyzer - Routing & Switching
