**Job Description** **Job Description: Assistant Manager Component Engineering** **Organization:** **Cyient DLM Limited** **Location: Mysore, KarnatakaIndiaIndustry: Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS)** **Position Summary** The Assistant Manager Component Engineering will support electronics manufacturing programs by managing component selection, qualification, lifecycle management, BOM analysis, and RFQ support. This role requires deep expertise in electronic and mechanical components, PCBA processes, manufacturability, and cross-functional collaboration with Bid, Sourcing, Sales, and Engineering teams. The engineer will work with customers across Aerospace, Defense, Medical, Automotive, Industrial, and Telecom segments to ensure reliable, cost-optimized, and compliant component strategies. **Key Responsibilities** **Component Engineering & Qualification** - Select, evaluate, and qualify electronic, mechanical, passive, active, and electromechanical components. - Analyze datasheets, specifications, and application requirements to ensure suitability, reliability, and manufacturability. - Ensure component compliance with industry standards including **UL, RoHS, and REACH**. - Conduct component-level risk assessments and support product design teams with appropriate component recommendations. **Component Lifecycle & Obsolescence Management** - Monitor component lifecycle status, PCNs, EOL notices, supply risks, and availability issues. - Suggest and validate alternate components for **obsolescence** and **cost optimization**. - Maintain component master data and ensure timely updates to AVL/ACL. **BOM Analysis & Engineering Change Management** - Perform in-depth **BOM scrubbing**, validation, and optimization for RFQs received from customers. - Ensure BOM completeness, accuracy, and alignment with customer requirements. - Support **Engineering Change Requests (ECR)** and **Engineering Change Orders (ECO)** activities. **RFQ & Cost Support** - Work closely with Bid, Sourcing, and Sales teams on component feasibility and cost benchmarking. - Utilize RFQ and component intelligence tools such as **IHS, Silicon Expert, Octopart**, etc. - Identify cost-effective alternates without compromising reliability, compliance, or performance. **Cross-Functional & Customer Interaction** - Collaborate with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve component issues. - Support customer-specific requirements across **Aerospace, Defense, Medical, Automotive, Industrial, and Telecom** sectors. - Provide technical input during customer discussions, audits, and design reviews. **Requirements** **Technical Requirements** - Strong understanding of **electronic and mechanical components** (active, passive, electromechanical). - Experience in electronics manufacturing, **PCBA processes**, and supplier/ component approval workflows. - Hands-on experience with component RFQ and database tools: **IHS, Silicon Expert, Octopart** (preferred). - Strong capability in **Excel, Macros, and MS Office** tools. - Familiarity with international compliance standards such as **UL, RoHS, REACH**. **Professional Skills** - Strong analytical skills with excellent documentation and reporting capabilities. - Effective problem-solving, decision-making, and proactive risk mitigation. - Ability to work cross-functionally with **Bid, Sourcing, Sales, Engineering**, and Customer teams. - Experience working in **EMS or OEM** environment (required). - Demonstrated experience supporting customers from **Aerospace, Defense, Medical, Automotive, Industrial, and Telecom** domains. **How to Apply:** Interested candidates should submit their resume to **rajashekhara.n@cyientdlm.com**
