The role involves overseeing day-to-day operational activities, supporting production planning, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations. The Assistant Manager monitors performance metrics, prepares reports, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives in line with Tata Steel’s sustainability and quality standards. This position supports resource allocation, supervises frontline teams where applicable, and helps implement standard operating procedures and best practices. The role also requires maintaining strong communication with stakeholders, addressing operational issues promptly, and supporting training and development within the team. **Qualifications** - Strong operational and supervisory skills, with experience in production, plant operations, or industrial project management. - Knowledge of safety, quality, and compliance standards in manufacturing or metals and mining environments. - Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and use of digital tools or ERP systems to monitor and improve performance. - Effective communication, stakeholder management, and team collaboration skills. - Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and make decisions in a fast-paced operational setting. - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; a master’s degree or relevant certifications are an advantage. - Experience in steel, metals, mining, or heavy industry is preferred; exposure to sustainability or process improvement initiatives is beneficial. - Commitment to safety, continuous learning, and alignment with Tata Steel’s values and ethical standards.
