Position Title: Consultant / Associate Consultant Anesthesiology Department: Anesthesiology & Critical Care Location: Bhubaneswar, Odisha Experience Required: 3 to 5 Years (Post-MD/DNB/DA) Employment Type: Full-Time Position Overview A leading, multi-specialty tertiary care hospital in Bhubaneswar is seeking a skilled and dedicated Anesthesiologist with 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience. The selected candidate will join a dynamic clinical team responsible for perioperative anesthesia care across state-of-the-art modular operation theatres, post-operative units, and emergency/critical care services. Key Responsibilities 1. Clinical Operations & Surgical Support • Conduct pre-anesthetic check-ups (PAC) and clinical risk assessments prior to surgical procedures. • Administer general, regional (spinal, epidural, ultrasound-guided nerve blocks), and monitored anesthesia care across surgical disciplines including General Surgery, Orthopedics, Onco-Surgery, OB-GYN, Urology, and Neuro-Surgery. • Manage post-anesthesia care units (PACU) and execute acute post-operative pain management protocols. 2. Critical Care & Emergency Response • Provide airway management and critical intervention support for ICU and emergency cases when needed. • Perform invasive monitoring techniques, including central venous catheterization and arterial line placement. 3. Quality & Safety Compliance • Maintain strict adherence to hospital clinical safety, NABH protocols, and infection control standards. • Participate in rotational shift rosters and on-call duties to support 24/7 emergency care requirements. Candidate Qualifications & Requirements Educational Qualification: MD / DNB in Anesthesiology (or DA with extensive corporate hospital experience) Medical Registration: Active registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or any State Medical Council. Experience: 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience in a tertiary care or multi-specialty hospital. Core Skills: Ultrasound-guided nerve blocks, difficult airway management, ventilator management, and PAC protocols. Soft Skills: Strong decision-making skills under high pressure, clear communication, and collaborative team focus.
