**JOB DESCRIPTION** **Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ)** is the largest commercial ports operator in India accounting for nearly one-fourth of the cargo movement in the country. Its presence across 15 domestic ports in seven maritime states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Odisha presents the most widespread national footprint with deepened hinterland connectivity. The port facilities are equipped with the latest cargo-handling infrastructure which is not only best-in-class, but also capable of handling the largest vessels calling at Indian shores. Our ports are equipped to handle diverse cargos, from dry cargo, liquid cargo, crude to containers. **Role Purpose** The role is responsible for coordinating, collecting, validating, accounting, and analyzing ESG data from operational sites to support the organization’s sustainability performance management and statutory, investor, and rating‑agency disclosures. The role focuses on **site‑level ESG data governance** , including environmental, social, and governance metrics, ensuring data accuracy, traceability, audit readiness, and compliance with national and international ESG reporting frameworks. The role will work closely with site teams, corporate functions, and external assurance providers to institutionalize ESG data systems, enable performance tracking, and support informed decision‑making. **Responsibilities** **ESG Data Management & Performance Monitoring** - Drive site‑level ESG data collection covering energy, emissions, water, waste, safety, workforce, and social metrics. - Maintain standardised ESG data frameworks including templates, timelines, and reporting calendars. - Ensure accurate ESG accounting (Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3) in line with defined methodologies. - Validate ESG data with site and corporate teams using primary records (meters, invoices, logs). - Implement data quality controls, variance analysis, and corrective action tracking. - Maintain audit‑ready documentation including assumptions, boundaries, and calculation methodologies. - Track ESG performance against targets, regulations, and benchmarks, and identify improvement areas. - Develop concise dashboards and summaries for management and assurance purposes. **Sustainability Reporting & ESG Compliance** - Support preparation of ESG disclosures for BRSR, BRSR Core, GRI, TCFD, SASB and investor‑driven questionnaires. - Coordinate site‑level data inputs for sustainability reports, annual reports, and rating submissions. - Ensure consistency of ESG data across multiple disclosures and submissions. - Support engagement with ESG rating agencies (e.g., MSCI, Sustainalytics, CDP, DJSI, FTSE) through accurate and timely data responses. **Sustainability Due Diligence & Project Data Support** - Provide ESG data inputs for sustainability due diligence of new projects and investments. - Support Finance and Strategy teams by supplying ESG performance data relevant to investment evaluations. - Assist in integrating sustainability metrics into internal performance monitoring systems. **Stakeholder & Assurance Coordination** - Act as a primary data coordination point between corporate ESG teams, site teams, and external auditors. - Support interactions with third‑party verifiers, consultants, and ESG assurance providers. - Respond to data requests from internal governance committees and management. **Continuous Improvement & Digitisation** - Identify opportunities for digitisation and automation of ESG data collection and monitoring. - Track emerging best practices, tools, and methodologies in ESG data management. - Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at strengthening ESG data accuracy, efficiency, and reliability. **Key Stakeholders** **Internal** - All operational sites and departments of APSEZ - EHS, Operations, HR, Procurement, Finance, and Strategy teams - Top Management - Corporate Responsibility / ESG Committee of the Board **External** - ESG assurance and audit agencies - ESG rating agencies (MSCI, Sustainalytics, CDP, DJSI, etc.) - Sustainability consultants and advisors - Vendors and suppliers providing ESG‑related data **Education Qualification** Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related field. **Experience** 3-5 years of professional experience in ESG, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, or related areas.
