About the Role We are looking for a highly skilled Azure Data Architect / Migration Specialist to lead large-scale Azure Synapse Analytics to Microsoft Fabric migration initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge Microsoft data platforms, drive cloud modernization programs, and build next-generation analytics solutions that deliver business impact at scale. As a key contributor, you will own the end-to-end migration lifecycle, from strategy and assessment through execution, optimization, and operationalization, while collaborating with architects, engineering teams, and business stakeholders. Key Responsibilities • Lead end-to-end migration of Azure Synapse Analytics workloads to Microsoft Fabric with minimal business disruption. • Define migration roadmaps, architecture strategies, and execution plans to ensure successful platform transformation. • Design and optimize scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric. • Build and maintain modern data platforms leveraging SQL Server, ADLS Gen2, Cosmos DB, Blob Storage, and Fabric Lakehouse capabilities. • Conduct migration assessments, validation testing, performance tuning, cutover planning, and post-migration optimization. • Ensure data quality, security, governance, and compliance throughout the migration journey. • Implement enterprise-grade monitoring, observability, lineage, and governance using Azure Monitor and Microsoft Purview. • Collaborate with architects, business teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive successful delivery. • Create reusable frameworks, best practices, and technical documentation to accelerate future modernization initiatives. Must-Have Skills Proven hands-on experience in Azure Synapse Analytics to Microsoft Fabric migration projects Strong expertise in: • Microsoft Fabric • Azure Synapse Analytics • SQL Server & Advanced T-SQL • Azure Data Factory (ADF) • Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLS Gen2) • Databricks • Python Experience working with: • Cosmos DB • Azure Stream Analytics • Event Hub • Logic Apps • Microsoft Purview • Azure Monitor • Azure Data Explorer Strong problem-solving, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills within enterprise-scale data environments. Nice to Have • Experience with Fabric Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, and OneLake architecture. • Knowledge of cloud-native data platform modernization and analytics solutions. • Expertise in advanced data orchestration and workflow automation. • Experience managing large-scale enterprise data ecosystems and migration programs. • Exposure to AI, advanced analytics, or real-time streaming solutions. Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related field. • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate. • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert. • Microsoft Fabric Certification (preferred). • Strong stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills.
