ROLE SUMMARY: • Responsible for providing financial leadership, business consultation, thought partnership and analytical support as a key business partner to the India Country President and India Leadership Team.   • Through insightful understanding of the business, rigorous review and partnership with Business Leaders, the India Finance Director is responsible for development and execution of financial strategies, delivery of financial commitments and optimal deployment of capital.   • This role requires significant coordination with other senior leaders globally on complex matters that impact the business. The Finance Director India will also work closely with other Finance organizations including Controlling & Accounting, Treasury, Taxation and Business Analytics • This role is also responsible for ensuring highest levels of Corporate Governance and Listed company compliances under security exchange laws and other corporate laws, coordinating with the Board with majority of Independent Directors and approx. 150K shareholders, publication of quarterly financial results, managing Analyst meetings, financial communities, fund managers and media queries on financials and strategy, oversight on Foreign Exchange Management Act compliances with the Central Bank, oversight on pricing strategy and drug pricing advocacy, responsible for CSR spend and compliances, lead M&As and spin offs, sale of brands, etc., • This position will directly manage a team of 5 colleagues in Business Finance and will also work closely with the entire India Finance Team as the CFO.  ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES   Business Partnering:  • Partner with India Country President and LT on the execution of business strategies • Driving key business and transformation initiatives • Providing analytical support as necessary for key business decisions such as: resource prioritization and allocation, licensing & business development opportunities, trade/distribution agreements, procurement strategies, Pricing and Access/Affordability initiatives, Third Party Partnerships, and capital projects.    • Establish effective working relationship with stakeholders in the India and neighboring markets to provide day-to-day financial support, business consultation and analytics.   • Analyze key business trends and proactively identify and communicate issues, opportunities and/or threats, and collaborate with management to resolve them.   • Provide financial expertise in technical areas in business-related decision-making, involving other SMEs as required.   • Where appropriate, act as a liaison between markets and other Finance teams including Finance Operations, Tax and Treasury, RM&C and Internal Audit.  • Work closely with EM Asia LT and Regional Finance Director to ensure alignment/prioritization of resources wrt India Key Finance Activities:  • Monitor and analyze financial results throughout year. Communicate financial results to NYHQ, EM and EM Asia LT.   • Lead the Latest Estimate (LE) and Operating Plan (OP) cycles for India. • Monitor and challenge financial and operational performance and provide advice on corrective actions.  • Proactively identify business opportunities and/or risks and make recommendations or propose solutions.   • Perform analysis to determine portfolio cost optimization opportunities across the area.  • Drive Working Capital management in India to optimize cash flow and mitigate financial risk.   • Work with key stakeholders in Finance to drive standardized financial practices across the Business.    • Drive efficiencies in the OP / LE cycles in India leveraging support from Centers of Excellence and utilizing new forecasting tools and technologies.    • Work with Finance leadership to advance Finance initiatives in India, including Treasury (working capital) and Tax initiatives,  • Fulfill the policies and procedures of accounting principles and control in accordance with local and HQ Policy and Procedures.   • As necessary, support internal and external audit activities   Key Listed Company Corporate Governance Activities:  • Ensure compliance with Corporate Governance and Listing Regulations and other corporate laws.  • Coordinate with the Independent Board and Board approval processes and proactively engage with the Board for alignment on key strategy matters. • Ensure shareholder management and publish Annual Report, manage Annual General Meeting, conduct Analysts meet, respond to queries from media and financial community on financial results and key strategies. • Present the financial results before Audit Committee and Board and obtain approval, ensure that adequate Internal Financial Controls are put in place, manage Internal Audit, Risk Management framework, Nomination & Remuneration Committee and Stakeholders Relationship Committee meetings. • Ensure compliance with Insider Trading regulations and whistle blower mechanism • Oversight of compliance under Foreign Exchange Management Act and Reserve Bank of India, Transfer Pricing & Related Party transactions. • Oversight on Pricing strategy and advocacy with government on Drug Pricing Regulations and other allied government regulations. • Lead Mergers & Acquisitions, spin-offs, sale of brands, divestment, etc. • Responsible for ensuring the mandated CSR Spend and oversight of CSR programs.
