Purpose of the role : - As the Lead - Chassis Architecture 2W, you will be responsible for delivering chassis systems for a Product/Platform working in coordination with multiple design engineers across chassis functions. You will work with the guidance of section head chassis architecture, cross-functionally with design, engineering, testing, and manufacturing teams to develop innovative solutions that enhance the structural integrity and overall riding experience. Job Title / Role: Module leader - 2W Chassis Department: Chassis Systems D&D Position reports to: Section Head Chassis Architecture 2W Location: Hosur Education Qualification: - BTech or MTech in Mechanical Engineering. Advanced Qualifications are an advantage. - Any course or certification in project management Required Experience: 14 years in Automotive R&D field. Experience in Chassis System Engineering, with a minimum of 8 years Chassis System Design & development, Experience Leading Value Engineering Initiatives. Internal and External Interactions Internal - Design, Engineering, Testing, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Service, Production and Aftersales teams External - Suppliers Role Description Lead the development of chassis systems across functional teams for a product / platform delivering New Products and /or addressing problems in current products. • Define technical requirements and ensure designs meet performance, durability, weight and cost targets. Co-ordinate effectively to deploy mutually agreed QCD requirements on chassis systems, steer alignments and discussions within and between CoCs, Quality, Purchasing, Service, Production and Aftersales. • Review test procedures and results (performance & durability) and oversee the validation process. • Ensure design reviews, DFMEA, Design Input Sheet, DVP are completed in timely manner • Mentor new engineers for their career goals and objectives • Lead Problem solving initiatives & Value Engineering initiatives on chassis systems across product life cycles. • Ensure compliance with global safety and regulatory standards. • Manage supplier relationships for the project Functional Competencies: • Chassis System Overall Design & Development - CL2 • Vehicle Architecture and package - CL2 • Manufacturing - Fabrication, 2W frame Fixturing, Forging, Casting - CL2 • Systems Engineering - CL2 • Automotive Design & Development process and project management - CL2 • Product Verification & Validation - CL2 • Manufacturing - Fabrication, 2W frame Fixturing, Forging, Casting - CL2 • FEA - Especially stiffness & Strength Analysis - CL2 Behavioural Competencies: • Individual Competencies : decision-making, working with teams, confidence, technical know-how, self-motivation skills - CL3 • Interpersonal Competencies : high energy levels, communication skills, teamwork, persuasiveness, and handling problems - CL3 • Managerial Competencies leadership skills, managing people/teams, quick decision-making, addressing problems, analytical skills, and strategic planning - CL3 • Analytical Competencies data analytics, working with numbers, problem solving abilities with data set - CL3 • Integrity : Consistent with words and actions, respond to pressure to act in conflict with their ethics, accept responsibility for mistakes. - CL3 • Ability to partner and work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment. - CL3 • Project Management Skills - maintain timelines, plan deliveries, escalate deviations and seek support - CL3
