Job Description for L10 Title: Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator Qualifications/ Competencies Accreditation Mandatory qualifications include excellent written and verbal communication, as well as strong interpersonal and leadership skills. The candidate must be organized, self-motivated, and a strong team player, with the ability to participate in knowledge transfer with peers and management. Mandatory technical skills include: • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including EnterpriseDB Postgres Advanced Server (EPAS) and community PostgreSQL deployments. • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Computer Science. A postgraduate degree in Computer Science is preferred. • Responsible for building, implementing, configuring, managing, documenting, and tuning PostgreSQL 15+ databases on Red Hat Linux. • Support PostgreSQL databases across development and production lifecycles in collaboration with related operational teams. • Provide PostgreSQL database solution reviews and advice within company policies; troubleshoot and resolve PostgreSQL database-related issues. • Provide expert knowledge in the design and development of PostgreSQL database services, standards, automation, and operational best practices. • Experience with PostgreSQL database security, encryption, role-based access control, and authentication methods such as LDAP or certificate-based authentication. • Expert-level knowledge of PostgreSQL user access management, roles, privileges, and schema-level security controls. • Expert-level knowledge of PostgreSQL auditing, logging, and monitoring, including configuration of server logs, pgAudit, and audit control baselines. • Hands-on experience deploying Postgres database security patches and remediating database vulnerabilities. • Expert-level knowledge of financial industry compliance requirements such as SOX, PCI DSS, FISMA, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and FATCA. • Expert experience with PostgreSQL high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including streaming replication, logical replication, failover architecture, and recovery planning. • Expert-level knowledge of PostgreSQL replication, failover, and recovery technologies, including physical replication, logical replication, and standby management. • Experience performing PostgreSQL backup and recovery using tools such as Barman, and native backup and restore utilities. • Expert-level knowledge of PostgreSQL performance tuning and analysis using tools such as PEM, pgAdmin, EXPLAIN/ANALYZE, and system-level monitoring utilities. • Solid hands-on experience troubleshooting and resolving urgent or critical incidents on production systems. • Experience with Python, Perl, and UNIX shell scripting is required. • Provide sound advice and/or act in a lead capacity for operational systems/applications planning, performance, availability, integration, operations support, and release/deployment management. • Develop and recommend technical strategies and solutions to maintain and/or expand service levels. • Work with architects, design teams, and build teams to ensure that environment modifications interact appropriately, data conversion impacts are considered, and other areas of impact are addressed to meet project performance requirements. • Influence product direction, foresee issues and gaps, identify solutions, and work comfortably with leading-edge products that may be untested or emerging in the market. • Work independently and/or autonomously on a diverse range of tasks and operational support activities and be relied upon to coach and educate others. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office product suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.). The following qualifications are considered as assets: • Experience with Storage Area Networks (SAN). • Familiarity with the CA-7/AutoSys enterprise batch scheduling solution. • Knowledge of Open source Non-Relational Databases
