Job requisition ID :: 108431 Date: Jul 15, 2026 Location: Kolkata Designation: Consultant Entity: Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP ## **Consultant – Power Procurement (SAP IS-U)** **Location:** Kolkata, West Bengal, India **Role Level:** Consultant **Function:** SAP Utilities / Power Procurement & Energy Management **Employment Type:** Full-Time # **Position Summary** We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced **Consultant – Power Procurement** to support power purchase planning, procurement operations, energy accounting, contract management, scheduling, settlements, and regulatory compliance within a utility environment leveraging SAP IS-U and associated utility systems. The consultant will be responsible for supporting end-to-end power procurement processes, including long-term and short-term power purchase arrangements, energy scheduling, contract administration, power purchase cost management, and integration with SAP IS-U, SAP FI/CO, and energy management systems. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of electricity markets, power procurement regulations, power purchase agreements (PPAs), scheduling and dispatch mechanisms, and utility commercial operations. # **Key Responsibilities** ## **Power Procurement Operations** - Support power procurement activities for meeting consumer demand and load requirements. - Coordinate procurement from: - Central Generating Stations - State Generating Utilities - Independent Power Producers (IPPs) - Renewable Energy Sources - Power Exchanges - Traders and Bilateral Contracts - Assist in optimizing the power purchase portfolio while balancing cost and reliability. ## **Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) Management** - Support administration and monitoring of Power Purchase Agreements. - Track: - Contracted Capacity - Energy Offtake - Availability Parameters - Tariff Structures - Contractual Obligations - Monitor contract compliance and identify deviations. - Support PPA renewals, amendments, and contract closure activities. ## **Load Forecasting & Demand Planning** - Support preparation of demand forecasts based on: - Historical Consumption Patterns - Seasonal Variations - Consumer Growth Trends - Industrial Demand Patterns - Assist in developing procurement plans aligned to forecasted demand. - Coordinate with commercial and operations teams for load planning activities. ## **Scheduling, Dispatch & Energy Management** - Support power scheduling activities with: - SLDC (State Load Dispatch Centre) - RLDC (Regional Load Dispatch Centre) - Generating Stations - Monitor energy drawal and generation schedules. - Support daily, weekly, and monthly energy balancing activities. - Analyze schedule deviations and support corrective actions. ## **SAP IS-U & Commercial Integration** - Support integration of power procurement data with SAP IS-U. - Collaborate with SAP IS-U teams to ensure alignment between: - Energy Procurement - Billing - Energy Accounting - Revenue Management - Assist in preparing data for downstream billing and settlement processes. - Support meter-to-cash process linkage from a commercial perspective. ## **Energy Accounting & Settlement** - Participate in energy accounting and reconciliation activities. - Support: - Energy Balance Reports - Drawal Reconciliation - Power Purchase Cost Analysis - Settlement Calculations - Assist in verification of invoices received from power suppliers. - Coordinate with finance teams for settlement and payment processing. ## **Regulatory Compliance** - Support compliance with: - CERC Regulations - SERC Regulations - Grid Codes - Renewable Purchase Obligations (RPO) - Regulatory Reporting Requirements - Prepare reports and data submissions for regulatory and management reviews. - Maintain documentation supporting audits and compliance reviews. ## **Renewable Energy Procurement** - Support procurement and monitoring of renewable power sources including: - Solar Power - Wind Power - Small Hydro - Green Energy Contracts - Monitor RPO compliance and renewable energy procurement obligations. - Support reporting related to renewable energy procurement and usage. ## **Reporting & Analytics** - Prepare MIS reports and dashboards related to: - Power Procurement Costs - Demand Forecasts - Procurement Mix - Energy Drawal - Contract Performance - Energy Balancing - Identify opportunities for procurement optimization and cost reduction. - Support management decision-making through data analysis. ## **SAP Integration & Business Processes** Collaborate with teams responsible for: - SAP IS-U - SAP FI/CO - SAP PM - SAP BW/BI - SAP Analytics Cloud - Energy Management Systems (EMS) - Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS) Ensure consistency and accuracy of procurement-related data across enterprise systems. ## **Testing & Implementation Support** - Support implementation and enhancement initiatives related to power procurement processes. - Prepare: - Business Requirement Documents - Functional Specifications - Test Cases - User Manuals - Participate in: - Unit Testing - SIT - UAT - Go-Live Activities ## **Production Support** - Provide functional support for power procurement and settlement processes. - Analyze and resolve business process issues. - Support enhancement requests and process optimization initiatives. - Ensure adherence to operational SLAs. ## **Stakeholder Management** - Coordinate with: - Power Procurement Teams - Commercial Operations Teams - Load Dispatch Centres - Regulatory Affairs Teams - Finance Teams - SAP Functional Teams - Power Suppliers and Generators - Participate in business discussions, workshops, and user training programs. # **Educational Qualifications** - Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Energy Engineering, Commerce, Finance, Management, or related discipline. - MBA (Power Management, Energy Management, Operations, or Finance) preferred. - SAP Utilities certification will be an added advantage. # **
